    Hey guys,

I am debating whether I should go for .info or .com, .com obviously looks alot better.

.com cost $10 and .info cost $3

So, I'm thinking, the difference ain't much.Should I go for .com or .info ?

And do you guys know any other registrar cheaper than $10 for .com ?

    Thanks

For me at least, .com's are easier to rank than a .info. Then again, it's been a while since I tried to rank with a .info.

Lots of places have .com cheaper than $10 still, Godaddy for one. You can also get .info for $0.49 at Godaddy if you use the trick detailed here:

I bought like 10 last night. From what has been said around BHW, .com's are better in the short term for ranking but in the medium to long term they are equal. It really depends on the method you will be using. I've been doing a method thats powered by social media so not too worried by ranking because my main source of traffic is social whereas if you are trying to rank a niche site or something similar you might want to get a .com. Preferably an exact match or keyword+something.com if all the exact matches are taken.

Normally, it is quiet difficult to rank .info domains

.com domains are easier to rank higher on google

There is not a big difference in price, Its best to go for .com domains always

otherwise, later you will have to spend more money for SEO if you buy a .info domain...

True to God mate, I did it last night. Add only the .mobi, and make sure the .info is available. Then go to checkout and you will see 3 options in the box along with your .mobi domain. One of these is the .info. Select the .info's and then delete the .mobi from your cart and shebang. I bought 5 domains to see and after it worked i logged back in and bought 3 more.

I personally found .info's weird to rank, if it was a micro niche site, i could rank with .info just as easy as .com , however if it came to product review, or affiliate site, my .info would be alot harder to rank then a .com

If the price is that big of a deal, go with the .info , try and rank it, if it dosn't work buy the .com and redirect the .info to it, and continue building the .com

Yes, I too agree with the above statements. I previously was buying only .info, then realized it's not worth working on them, so had to sell all those sites and now working on .coms and .nets. Go for .com and more over, there will be an advantage of direct visitors, since most people type .com after they type your site name.
