Hi all! Long time lurker here! So I'm 18 years old, ending my first year in college, and have been in the YouTube game for a while. Used to run a fairly decent sized Call of Duty channel a few years back until life came into play and I had to quit. I now have gained new interests and have a few friends that actually do YouTube as a full-time job in a nice that I am trying to push into.

I want to document my journey to a potential part-time or full-time job on YouTube. I just made my channel and created my first video for it. So far what I am doing is sharing it on Facebook and Twitter as well as some real life people I know who are into the same niche. (If you are wondering, it's motovlogging and motorcycles in general)

I only want to use real and honest methods to increase my audience, no buying viewers or botting or anything of the such.

I am 100% open to any tips or suggestions as I have noticed that YouTube has DEFINITELY changed! I will do my absolute best to keep this thread updated weekly with my findings and results. I am currently at 9 subscribers, increasing by about 1-2 per day and 800 views, about 30-40 per day, as of today's date.

I shall do an update at the end of the week with new stats and things of the such!

What I was going to say was that you should consider getting into tumblr. I made a blog about import cars and I get a large amount of likes/reblogs/new followers every day. I run my traffic through ifttt from reddit top posts and then it automatically posts my weblink. I know you said you don't wanna bot, but why hand select your content when you can have curated trusted high quality posts 50-100 times a day. You can upscale this method, run one for each subreddit or use 2 subreddits and only post your link in one of them so it doesnt seem like a spam account. You can go with w/e route you'd like.

    Automating something isnt botting.

Whenever you can automate something - do it! And use the time for putting more work in your videos. Dont forget to interact alot with your followers, though.

I actually never thought about getting into Tumblr to get my channel link out there more, that's a really good idea! I'll have to read up more on that and see about getting into Tumblr a bit!

    Standard procedure:
Autopost your video on your tumblr.
Everyday take 5minutes to retweet posts, like posts, comment on posts and follow a few people in your niche and see if they follow back (unfollow otherwise)

    Update #1: Friday April 24, 2015

Subscriber count has increased by 3 this week, viewer count is still stead at about 20+ per day. I have began to network with a few "bigger" YouTubers in the same niche and we are working out a little shoutout video to come up in the next week or so!
