So, any income that I earn this year will count for 50% of my estimated family contribution, or basically what is expected of me to pay. So if I earn $10k through affiliate marketing, basically I will be expected to pay $5,000 next year for college. Any tips or anything to beat this?

How do you other college students deal with this?

I know about hiding the income through using an outside network, but I do not know of many.

Why not just grab some throw away paypal's and throw up a site or two from a laptop in some coffee shop or anywhere else that has free wifi, reg everything with the fake name on the paypal meaning your hosting, aff networks, etc and get one of those paypal top off cards? It will mean that any and everything you do will have to be untraceable. Get used to working from the starbucks and make sure you figure out the mailing issue for the paypal card. Thats whatever, a max of 400$ a day you can get out of this throw away paypal at an atm. You should be able to stay under that and if you can't, just divide your networks over a few throw away paypals. NOTE ALL OF THIS IS ILLEGAL AS IS TAX EVASION. My suggestions may not work, they may not be feasible, but they sure as hell are for educational purposes only. Or you could just go the easy way and work with nothing but offshore affiliates. Could work but doesn't paypal submit your earnings info at the end of the year anyways? You would have to answer for that. Or I guess you could get your money wired to a few bank accounts, but I don't know how banks and reporting to the IRS works. Hope I gave you or someone some ideas, and if this isn't allowed to be discussed on this forum, I am sorry, I didn't know, please just delete my post.

Make all your income payable to someone else and have this person cash in your checks, then hand over the cash. You still pay Tax, which is good, and your College doesn't know your making that much.
