I have made this thread so everyone can participate and BENEFIT by posting THE BEST PIECES of copywriting you have seen.

This will help everyone out in copywriting.

    -----------------------------------------

I will start of by posting this piece from The Oatmeal, about Tesla.

    http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla

This was very powerful, persuasive and interesting.

Forbes countered it by showing it was OVER EXAGGERATED and most of it wasn't correct. However its written in a way that the reader belives it and instantly hits him. It also led this piece to going viral all over the net.

In terms of copywriting this is what we need and it seemed to contain it all. CATCH the readers attention, make him BELIVE it, make him love your PRODUCT (in this case it was Tesla), HATE your rival (Edison) and MAKE THE READER TAKE ACTION (here it was being part of the project and making you share it, sending it VIRAL)

Such a piece would hardly need any advertising as it makes people do it for FREE and with a bit of controversy it will make it even MORE POWERFUL, in this case Forbes magazine picked it up AND gave people another reason to talk about it.

GREAT COPYWRITING + SOCIAL MEDIA = ATOM BOMB (in terms of advertising)

    ----------------------------------------

I would LOVE to see pieces what everyone else considers some of the best and we can make a big COLLECTION here.

I actually did a search on google a couple of weeks back using certain keywords... I was trying to get hold of some great copywriting examples but didn't have any luck really.
So, I would be very interested to see some of the content that is added on this thread. thank you for posting it :)

Wow! That Oatmeal piece was great!
I feel like a douchebag (Edison) by not contributing my own example to the thread, but I will be checking back often to see others!

    1. Go to images.google.com
    2. Try these:

    Code:
    cosmopolitan covers
    mens fitness covers
    ny times headlines
    star magazine covers

    You get the idea.

Thats pretty good, I read the whole thing. If it wasnt so long I would copy paste it into POF and see what kind of responses I would get.

Beautiful. Great copy, a masterpiece really. I will add it to my collect. If you write this needs to be a reference piece/inspiration. I can't tell you how many times clients want me to take 'the story' out of the copy I write for them... Don't be stupid like them!

Gary Bencivenga used to be one of the best copywriters in the world. He's a genius when it comes to using proof. There are all kinds of really subtle psychological tactics you can learn from reading Bencivenga's copy. Seriously, find every piece of Bencivenga copy you can and study it.

    Here's a good one: http://successfulcomputerconsulting.com/wp-content/free_content/1995_ad.jpg

He has some old magazine style stuff, as well as longer form web copy stuff.

Halbert was one of the greatest of all time.

there are alot of greats that you haven't heard of. But, the AIDA principle is what many greats go by.

    And still do.

Halbert was a great self-promoter. But lots of better copywriters out there without the self promotion.
