Hey guys, I am cold calling to sell a place on a top5 local business website and made 1 sale for all my 33 calls. The businesses that I am calling right now are restaurants.

My question is, is that good or should I change something?

I think its very good. Especially if its your first 33. Great job man.

Thats 3% conversion on cold leads. Not bad.

If that was first calls, that is actually awesome. Usually most sales happen on 3rd or 4th calls on call back. But over all once you have a full sales cycle with your leads you should close on average about 8-12%.

Hi, first of all congrats on you'r sale, 1 out of 33 it's not that bad.

I've worked in cold calling and on my last company we used to say that you need to make at least 100 calls a day, every working day.

Out of those 100, 50 will listen, 25 will be interested, 12 will actually tink about it, 6 will ask you to call again, 3 will endup not taking the second call but 1 in those remaining 3 will actually close the sale with you.

This was kind of a joke but in a ruff economy like we are in these days it's not far from the truth.

With that in mind you'r closing 3 out of 100 which is 300% better than my previous company was expecting from us.

So as a reply to you'r question, that's good, but for a salesperson good is not enough.

    Keep it up, Cheers

That is VERY good....and for restaurants that is FU#KING AWESOME! They are hard on the phone because they are crazy busy and fast paced...good job!

Cold calling is very hard work but as with anything the more you do it the easier it becomes.

Try several different scripts and do some testing.

It can be demoralising but keep at it, as once you have mastered it you will have a valuable skill that is in demand.

Very good. I know cold calling centers where staff phone 300+ individuals per day and are only expected to close 3 calls a day, which is a rate of about 1%, so you are outperforming. Need a bigger number of calls to see just how well your doing.

Seems solid to me as well, but sort of depends on what exactly you're charging for the listing. I'd assume you went with a monthly price?

yep one out of a hundred is the norm, you are killing it. That said, don't get discourage if you go 100 without a sale now.

I am currently saying that it is 35$ month but I try to make them pay the whole year at once (425$).

The only thing that I have tried are restaurants and I can already tell that they are the hardest business to cold call. I started with them to practice and because there are just so many of them I can't possibly call all restaurants in 1 city and not make 5 deals.

I will update this thread when I have make 100 calls or all the 5 deals.

Thanks for cheering me up guys, I thought I was sucking balls at this.
