One of my sites is a .co.uk and I never really bothered to set up the cookie consent. I do have a privacy policy that outlines that cookies are used and to be honest, my WP site doesn't use that many cookies except for stumbleupon, statcounter and some affiliate tracking cookies.

Either ways, checked my stats this morning to see someone from Manchester City Council spending close to 1 hour on my site clicking through various links, which immediately prompted me to put up the Cookie Control WP plugin. Better be safe than sorry especially on a money site.

How is it with the rest of you that manage .co.uk sites? I haven't heard of anyone being pulled up yet for not putting up the cookie consent but you never know.

I've never given it much of a thought to be honest, should do really I guess.
I have privacy policies but nothing really specific. Just the old "We don't collect anything off you..." crap.

I'll have a look at that plugin now though, ta.

Cookie consent is the new European law where a user has to expressively permit the use
    of cookies

It's just a load of crap dreamt up by idiots who know nothing about the Internet...... I haven't put it on any of sites and most of the uk government sites don't have it either. It will be forgotten about or trashed within 6 months as it is totally unenforceable.
