client wants to meet up to make sure "we are on the same page"

    I posted about this a few days ago. Now the situation has changed a little.

    here is the back story: I was introduced to a potential web design/seo client through a current client. This future client is a doctor and the current client says he has very deep pockets.

    In our initial meeting, I liked the guy. He is one of those people who know nothing about seo and will believe anything you tell them. My initial impression is he is the kind of guy that will say "what do I need to do to make it happen?" and you say "pay me $x" and he says "here is the check"

    BUT here are my complaints. I sent him a contract over a week ago, and every day, he says he will sign it and send it with payment. But he still has not. I sent him some wordpress templates and told him to choose one. Still haven't heard back. I told my current client I have to charge the future client for web design. The current client said "all you are doing is putting up a theme. Dont charge him for it"
    I have agreed to do the web design at no cost and just charge for the SEO.
    Now his partner called me and left me a message, saying he wants to meet up to "make sure we are on the same page"

    Since I am inexperienced, I don't know what's the "normal" thing to do at this point. should I be nice and meet up? or should I say I am not going to waste any more time on this until I have contract and payment? should I tell him to go fuck himself?

    I just dont know at what point it's normal to be nice and at what point I am being TOO nice. again, due to lack of experience.

    Meet up it will be valuable experience for you.
    Even if you balls it up you will be in better stead for the next meeting.

    Meet up. I do this in my normal business and its just normal to work like that. The client may also be busy so make sure to work around their schedule. Most of my projects are through referrals because I will go out of my way. BTW, not in SEO.

    Remember if its a doctor they may be billing $300/hr or more for their time. So its much more money lost for them than it is for you. Again meeting someone face to face is a good thing. And don't take advantage just because they don't understand SEO. They obviously have other doctor friends and probably other friends or associates that need work done too. Do a good job and earn people's trust and it will come back to you five-fold.
