What do you suggest I do with it? There is years of it. Its on his blog page which isnt the main focus on the site. Pages of it indexed by google from way back! I don't want to remove all that content.....or do I?

Should I investigate to see if hes recieving much traffic from it? Will this be hurting him in google? Should I just wipe the whole blog and create some unique content for him? What to do?

    All suggestions appreciated!

Check if he is getting any traffic from it. Highly unlikely but still it would be a bad idea to delete everything in one go.

Is he ready to lose all this content or rather pages in one go?

Yes you should remove the duplicate content, but you most first make this clear to the client and give them the reason why it's best that the duplicated content be removed.

I had faced the same issue a year ago. A client had like 9k duplicated pages, and i was wondering if it would be a suitable idea to remove it and start to rewrite it to make it unique.
So i took a few days to think it through properly, and i decided to go and remove it.
I didn't have any peculiar difficulty to rank his website :)

Im assuming your client added unique content but others copied it later, hence dupe content?

ignore it, add new content and build links.

Every article on ezine articles is a duplicate of some page (ppl copy from it)

Nah he just copied and pasted articles from everywhere with good intentions. He didn't understand it was hurting others as well. Hes not tech savvy.

I think removing it would be the best idea right now.
