So which one would you recommend for personal and client use? G Analytics is obviously great as it's free and pretty good too but then again you can't trust one company with all your information. Clicky is pretty cool, especially their white label feature but it's quite pricy IMO. StatCounter seems great but I'm not fully sure about this, for some reason I'd rather stick to G Analytics.

So what do you use and why?

Google analytics is obviously really good but I also like to use statcounter because they give you a lot of details about your visitors for free up to 500. This way you can see what your recent visitors have are doing.

How does this compare with Google Analytics?

I live and die by StatCounter. I use the paid version and love it.

A lot of posters on here have been saying that they see rank increases by removing Google Analytics. I personally hate the new Google Analytics because they barely tell me any of the keywords. To be honest, I don't even check my Analytics unless I suspect something's up.

    I also swear by statcounter.
Very detailed information- you can see all visitors, where they enter, where they go.
You can see keyword searches, most popular terms and even what position you came for a particular term at any time.

Also logs are downloadable in full so you can perform further analysis.

Only thing I'd like to see from stat-counter is an API.

If you use WP, try StatPress Visitors. It provides a lot of information.

Clicky! All the way, I love it. Simple, free, does the job.
