So I had the ClickBank account for a few months and never gave it a try since to me making money on the net is NOT the easiest thing, it might be for those that already have a way with it. I have a few questions.

1-So why it's not ok to give your hoplink to your potential buyer if your potential buyer might not have a clue about ClickBank?

2-Is it ok to pick several products and promote them or just focus on one that you feel might bring you the most money?

3-Is it ok to leave the hoplink in various classifieds hoping someone would see the ad and buy?

1. If you don't think the buyer knows anything about CB then you probably don't need to hide your link. If it's anything about internet marketing, they know about CB. The CB links are kind of ugly and may worry some people. You might want to set up a redirect with a script to make it look better.

2. Most people think it's better to make a review site and compare a couple of products in the same niche, with your affiliate link to each product's sales page. Some people also like to set up a review of just one item, especially near or just after the launch. I personally like reviewing a few on a page.

3. It's not going to hurt, as long as you can post for free. You are probably better off cloaking the link, or linking to a review as mentioned in 2.

That's my uneducated opinion. This board is full of information on affiliate marketing.

Good Luck

I'd say hide your link at any opportunity, and every opportunity. There are tons of toolbars out there that hijack CB hoplinks and you don't want to become a victim. Aswell it doesn't look as professional because most people will spot it to be a type of link that doesn't have a very professional look.

I suggest you get a generic domain name which you can setup subdomain hoplinks. I.E. keywordelite.yourdomain.com

It is always advisable to hide your hop link from all people. Just give your honest opinion and tell me which link you would feel more inclined to click:
1- http://123.xyz.hop.clickbank.net or
2- http://123.abc.com

In my experience most people will definitely click the # 2 link and it will convert better than the first one. So choose a domain and then make subdomains for the products you select to promote. For example you wanna promote two products from health category then you need to make a subdomain for each. Then you paste these subdomains with related keywords in free classified sites, or blogs or squidoo lenses etc to promote the promote the product.

From my experience, I would suggest you to promote only one product at a time using various keyword variations and when you run short of keywords for that product, select the other and repeat the process. Though it seems tedious in the beginning but with each passing day you will build your own affiliate product expire and continue doing this till that category runs short of products.

As I already told you above, don't post your hop link, but post your subdomains and this way you will get better conversions.
I hope it will help you getting started.

hi killerbee, just put u in the buyer shoe for a min, will u prefer to buy from a short and decent link or those long n ugly link :P i would certainly prefer the 1st

also if you have your own site, make the link as folder, as in
www.yourdomain.com/NAMEOFPRODUCT

then set up a htaccess redidirect for that url to the affiliate link.
just google or search the board and you will see how its done. not to difficult.

that looks even better as a subdomain in my opinion. but this also works if you are linking out to the merchant from your own site.

and once set up, you can use that link anywhere on your site. a one time effort

many spamkillers and adblockers block *clickbank* entirely, so you do NOT want this in your links

especially in the i. marketing niche and coming from "dark" places like BHW :) there are always people who know what a hoplink is and they replace your ID with their own to buy products and get back the commissions.

Hey thanks to all that gave opinions. I agree with all of you, of course as a consumer I wouldn't want to click on an affiliate link. I would want to click on a link that's cleaner.
So after thinking and reading some of your opinions, I'm going to register a domain for the product that I want to promote. I found a program searching here on BH called "Cloaker Gem" that hides the affiliate link even after clicking on it.
They claim that even after masking the link, you still get the comission so thats a good thing. What I'm gonna do is register a domain and redirect the clickbank link to the new domain.
Well thanks to everyone that helped, I really appreciate it.

Why not just make your link something like this:

CLICK HERE TO BUY and then put your hoplink in there.

This is what I do and I have had some pretty good seccess with CB
