ClickBank link cloaking?

I was wondering, once you make a Squidoo Lens, is it's better to cloak your ClickBank links with OffTo . net and anchor your keyword using this or would it be better to use a Blogger blog landing page and anchor your keyword to that? Wouldn't the blogger blog be more sufficient and long lasting? OffTo looks quite nice but do they ban your links or anything like that? Would OffTo be better to use?

no need. CB has changed its hoplinks. Go check it out.

It's pretty pointless if you ask me, when you click the new link you still wind up with ?hop=yourname exposed in the address bar.

The way i do it is mysite.com/product >> merchant.com and no Clickbank link or hoplink is ever seen.

ShadeDream if you send your traffic from Squidoo >> Blogger >> CB Product it just adds another "obstacle" that will reduce your conversions.

Yeah, I see. I think I'm just going to use my own domain + shorty script. :)
I would use OffTo.net but you never know how long they will be up for.

Yes smart move, it's "never" wise to rely on some third party to control all the affiliate links that send you money. If they go down it's a nightmare going across the web switching them out with new ones, some links you just can't access to change.

If you do set one up, don't allow public access. You will wind up with spam complaints, DMCA's from people using your links for phishing pages etc.

There's a CGI script that takes the hoplink off the end of the url so no ?hop= is ever displayed. Shows a redirect though... let me know if you want the script posted here, it's not mine but dled off another forum (warrior i think).

you should cloak i, it's still a lot better than nothing, if you really worry with the hop name, make new account and use number as account name. Hop look like 5645845 won't attract a lot attention incompare with johnsmith

If you've got it then I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. ;)

they changed, but it STILL contains the "clickbank.net" part so its more or less obvious. The problem is that some sites see clickbank/affiliate sites as "bad neighborhoods". And a number of AV checkers and ad-blockers block URLs with "clickbank" in it right away.

Clickbank now cloaks your aff username for you! Go to their site and make your aff link using the "Market Place"

I assume you use something like "ninja" to do that and cloak it... does that not get in the way with tracking and sales ? ... as in sometimes they don't / won't register.

No i don't use Ninja, what i basically do with my script is load a page in the background during the redirect (it's fast you don't really notice) and it forces the cookie. So no it doesn't effect tracking or sales, if the cookie didn't set during this process it wouldn't of set during a regular hoplink either.

I think this is a step backwards, the new links are way uglier and longer plus it still reveals your ?hop=yourname in the address bar when you land on the merchant page anyway.

The whole idea of cloaking an affiliate link is to make it shorter and descriptive so people click it and to hide the fact it's an affiliate link. Clickbank has completely failed with all the above.

I registered a domain name for my product, how would I hide my affiliate link in the address bar once the person trying to buy gets to the sales page?
