I just read an email sent by one of my readers a couple of hours ago. He asked me how to use the product that he purchased from my site ( my aff link). I was exstatic and checked my CB account and guess what ??

    0 SALES

I honestly believe CB shaves off affiliate's commission now and then.

I checked all my links and they are proper. I was also getting regular commissions few months ago.

Anyone else have the same feeling?

Can also be the vendor shaving, he not allowing cookies by default, using ad-block
etc etc etc there are so many reasons why this can happen...

Clickbank credits the last affiliate's cookie - meaning if your reader went on to read more about the product by visiting another website, it's the latter affiliate who get credited with the sale. This is usually the cause of not being credited to a sale.

I know for a FACT that clickbank does not shave. You see, among our products, we've got three well-established ones that have been generating strong sales since 2012. For these 3 products, we offer free personal consultations to each customer. Now, when they email us, before getting them in touch with our health consultant, we ask them to supply their clickbank receipt number to verify their purchase. Since 2012, not a single purchase was 'missing' or not attributed to an affiliate. Keep in mind that each of these products generates well over 70 sales per day, so you can imagine the volume I am talking about. If clickbank was shaving, I would know it and I would have moved to another platform.

In your case the answer is one of three possibilities:
    1. After they clicked through your affiliate link, they clicked on someone else's affiliate link, and hence the last affiliate was credited with the sale.
    2. (Common): they never purchased the product in the first place; they are just sneakily looking to obtain a free copy.
    3. Although clickbank does not shave, vendors CAN shave - yes, there are a few bad apples among us unfortunately. Case in point Profit Edge, who had several high gravity (100+) products on CB before they got kicked off for shaving their affiliates and other illegal practices. They can hijack your hop either through embedding their cookie upon page load, or most common - using an opt in on page and mailing using their hoplink. For some tips on spotting these vendors, check out: The Types of Clickbank Sites That You Should NOT Promote
There is also the case of vendors requiring whitelisting of affilaites first (fairly common nowadays)- if you do not get whitelisted before promoting, you will NOT be credited with a sale. I personally do not agree or do this, but I can see the point of some vendors having to implement a whitelist if they are getting affiliates generating lots of refunds or chargeback due to shady promotional methods. For example organifi and purathrive - although both are building a good reputation on CB, they DO require whitelisting and you will not get credited for sales if you are not on the whitelist.

What?!?! Clickbank is just a broker between payment processors and affiliates. Just change payment processor!

    Come on, people.
