    [2:07AM]UPDATE2: 4 sales done!

    [12:47AM]UPDATE: 3 sales done :)

    Hello,
    I'm just happy.
I created my clickbank account 2 days ago, and after I found the "perfect" product for my small 5700 opt-in list, I decided to give it a try. I wish I had a bigger list, but this one was good enough.

I made an account on Mailchimp, created an awesome design (I didn't use Mailchimp's email builder) on Photoshop, coded it in HTML, and sent it to ~1600 people.
It took me a lot of work to bypass all the rules of spamassassin and get the lowest spam score possible.

    Here are my results:

    Mailchimp report:
    Clickbank report:

    [IMG][IMG]

Although I had 8 complaints and 300+ bounces, that list was laying on my HD for a long time, that is normal.
Now I have to email the rest of my list.

For the ones who don't accomplish any results, keep trying!

Update: Just got another sale + fixed the images

    Final earnings: $92.74

Watch out, mailchimp can get very testy about certain practices and affiliates. I've had issues with them in the past, and it was legitimate mailing that we were doing.

awesome man. I see very less people posting success with emails and your hard work shows. Usually people won't bother with photoshop and custom templates etc.

Hope you can take it to $100+ with another list and you can ask for your first check i guess :)

    Regards,

18% bounce rate might get you banned on Mailchimp, they are very strict. If that happens just move on to another mail service or download Interspire here and set it up on your own server.

I could simply make another free accounts, no? I'm using a Amazon EC2 vps, so every time I restart it I get another IP, then I create a new account.
Besides the affiliates, I did some blackhat to "hide" their free account badge.

Thanks man! I hope that too haha
I've already changed my payment threshold to $25, so I should get paid soon :D

Currently I already have a dedicated server with 32 IPs and PowerMTA + Interspire installed on it. But I'm still learning how to properly configure PMTA, and it should take some time to start sending from it :(

I wouldn't be surprised if you get another. Some people only check email once a day. After 48 hours it's safe to say sales are probably done for that blast.

So where did you acquire the list OP?

    Thank you!!
I've never done SEO, seems too complicated to me. But yeah, if you have the right resources, mailing still works great!

I'm still getting people opening my email.
    12.90% conversion rate so far.

Well. I built the list. 5700 opted in, but I sent the campaign to only ~1600 so far.
The key was a well designed squeeze page + CPA ads + Adwords.
The squeeze page is giving away a video if the user input their email address.

The well designed part counts a lot.

I registered a new domain (similar to the product domain), and pointed it to the hoplink.

Now I will segment this first part of the list, change the subject and send the same campaign to the ones who didn't open the email.

Also, there is their name in the subject (Using *|FNAME|* on Mailchimp). That in my opinion increases the open rate a lot.

This is kind of turning on a journal lol.

PS: I just got another sale.

About a year, but I only used free $100 google vouchers that I got. Now Google forces you to spend at least $25 in order to use them, but 3 months ago there was a way to use them without spending any money.

But I only built half of that list, the other half I got exchanging about 2000 emails with a guy building his list in the same niche as me.

Yes it is. Why the sad face ?

I got more Opens and Clicks, but no more sales so far (For that email.)

    Thanks :)
I will keep updating this post

I will send you a PM soon. Thank you :D

    I'm glad I could help :) !

    ------

    Alright, now the updates.
I haven't done more sales. I segmented my list, and I was going to email the same campaign but with different subjects and design to the subscribers that didn't open the email.

But then Mailchimp blocked me because I am doing Internet Marketing. :( Yeah I know, I've been warned but I was confident that this would not happen.

So I've spent mt time today looking for ESPs that allow me to email for free.
Mailchimp was the best choice so far, 2000 subscribers for free is a really good deal, since I managed to hide their required badge for free users.

The ones that I tested are:

GetResponse: It looks great, but the 250 subscribers limit is unviable to me.

Active Campaign: Seems ok, but again the 250 subscribers limit is unviable to me.

Constant Contact: 500 Subscribers (For some reason I don't like Constant Contact because after I registered one week ago, they have been calling me every single day asking me to put my CC info and shit. Also their Main Office is 30 minutes from me, huge building.)

Aweber and Imnica: Require me to send a opt-in confirmation to every contact in my list. Although I have a opt-in list, doing this is never good because you always lose some subscribers.

    Vertical Response: Limit 500 subscribers.

Benchmark Email: Their free plan seems good but it does not allow you to import your list.

There is also GoDaddy's Express Email Marketing, but I don't know how good is their deliverability.

    :(

Do you guys have any idea ?
Or even if it's paid, which one do you recommend me?

As I said, I have a server with 32 IPs + PowerMTA that I am setting up, but the deliverability will not be as good as those ESPs because I have to build my IP's reputation first.. and with such a small list, I need the best inbox rate possible :/
