    Hi guys and girls

I am a freelance graphic designer and I am constantly looking for new ways to market my business. Being a freelancer my budget for marketing is slim to non-existent so I try to be clever in the way I market. Has anyone seen any good examples? Or have any ideas?

    Cheers

The best solution is to create your own product (me and my partner create WordPress themes), which you could bring you passive income even in months when you're not working.
If you still want majority of your income through freelance jobs:

    1.Build a strong website - portfolio
2.Use LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook to promote your graphic design business
3,Share your work on to Behance, Dribble, Deviantart, Forrst...
4.start your own graphic design blog
    5.Try google ads
6.Most difficult for me - Cold calling

    Keep moving forward!

Look for your competitors and see what they're doing, you may get good marketing ideas from them.

Setup a gig on Fiverr and build up a client base from there. There are some really good graphic design gigs on there right now. Especially for logo design.

    I would suggest cold calling.
If done wisely, these cold calling pay off highly.

Scrape emails from websites/whois for the people you want to market to. Feed them into a facebook custom audience. Run low cost targeted ads to this audience. Remarket to everyone who visits your offers with a FB pixel and pull them through.

Have a plan - do you want to chase customers OR make the customers chase you?

You have to be willing to invest hard into your service, but get very creative about it. Spread your name by being featured on items people always use/visit/see.

I think the best (my favorite just for hiring) place to start with is Elance. But the essential or as (ABC) freelance business is to set up a professional profiles for yourself and make sure to integrate all your social profile links and urls with them

Never hurts to setup strategic alliances with local business meet up groups. Offer to do free work for your local Chamber of Commerce in return for an endorsement.

I don't know if you still need this, but you should definitely go for Instagram! Because it's a photo uploading platform, you can easily share you previous works on your profile and there is an option to put your website in your profile. Also there are lots of brands located on Instagram and individuals too. You can promote your posts through hashtags (delete them later on), liking and commenting on other people's pictures and if you got around $70 ready purchase an Instagram bot.
