Same problem here. Getting like 100 hops a day and 60-70 order impressions. I guess kids just can't order a CB product :S

Yeah, probably has something to do with the huge -18 target audience.

Damn! Must suck for you, why not split test the traffic across a couple of cityville products?

I split tested them . Tested different products , different landing pages , but its not converting because its a kid niche and kids dont have cc :)

idk if this is related, but 8-9 months back I was in similar situation...
I was marketing a software + guide for wweb based RPG game, never got a single sale...
But then I did a test, I found that guide and software cracked, put a content gateway to work [I used BHCB] and I was making $15-25/day from 150UVS.

Maybe some of you guys can try with your current traffic, oh btw, neveer use c.p.a.l.e.a.d. or something of that sort, never worked for me, I onlly put up my offers carefully selected from various CPA networks.

Oh, and don't forget to hide your a$$ if the offers are non-incentive.

EDIT; Kids don't have CC, but they do have lots of time to waste signing-up on random offers...

    Oh nice,

So you got paid without getting caught?

I'm thinking of just saying to hell with it and start using bhcb + cpa redirect to promote no-incent offers on my idle CPA networks. I have plenty of ways to monetize incentives but non-incent pays so much better. I'm scared of doing it though.

    Yep!
been paid over 700$, [total 4 payouts]
I am waiting on the next one which is over 800...
Just make sure you get a domain name, and redirect it to cpa offer..
And blank/fake your referrer, so if an AM asks about traffic sources just tell them the domain and tell him you distribute flyers and get the traffic on that domain..

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to post something about this issue... I have about 500k users on various social networks and direct sales of guides are not working.

I agree with the poster above that it largely has to do with the age demographic, but also the fact that most of the players are NOT in target rich countries --- e.g. Phillipines, Malaysia, etc.

Best bet is to put up a content locker and to drive sheer traffic or offer an unrelated, but game-specific ad.

Nice point Satyawrat that the kids don't have CC's -- seems obvious, but some reason that didn't occur to me :)

Sidenote - do any of you have any idea how where to direct traffic from the Phillippines?

    Is it just worthless traffic?

There is a forum called S-E-O Philippines (no dashes, I am new to this forum and it won't let me post certain things) where you can find out what the Filipino webmasters are doing to monetize their traffic. One thing, though -- a lot of the posts are in Tagalog, so you will either have to use Google Translator or have a Filipino friend read the posts for you.

The Philippines has a surprisingly robust economy, but your average Filipino goes to a web cafe to use the Internet, and the typical middle class family income outside the cities is $200 per month. So scale your expectations accordingly. One good place to direct your traffic is to places that sell prepaid cards for cell phones, since that is the primary means of personal communication over there, and probably the top consumer priority after food, rent, and transportation.

Try promoting one of the free zynga gift card CPA offers instead of the guide.

Direct them to travian game offer.
It pays you around $0.5 or something per lead.

I learned my lesson from farmville guide. I got 1000's of hops but managed only 1 sale. The demographic is not a buying one.

I've had 15 sales of the Cityville Domination guide in the last month, I personally think the game is far too easy at the moment to need a Strategy Guide. Nearly everyone who has any brains to own a credit card is above level 50 already.

I will say this, try to get as many US clickthroughs as possible because nearly all my sales were from American customers, 1 from UK and 1 from Australia. The remining countries clickthroughs are a complete waste of your time.

Hopefully Zynga will pull their finger out their ass and produce more job missions, businesses, housing, decorations or whatever, because at the moment the game is rather shite.
