    CityTech's IM Journey

I was always interested in money and the internet. Put the two together, and here I am.

My first attempts at fortune through the internet was filling out surveys for sites that, we all know, would never pay you. After discovering that after a year of work, I abandoned IM. I rediscovered it with ChaCha, but even then realized it was pointless. $.0005 per question answered. Pointless. Waste of time. And so again, I abandoned IM.

I finally discovered BHW, and started to read every thread I could get my hands on. After a month or two of reading, I took action. I made friends with a Polish guy, and we had really helped each other out, with new ideas, new discoveries etc. Although I didn't know it, I took action in a terrible niche, and after realizing I had earned $0 for the month I had tried, I thought it was all bogus and left IM, again.

When Fiverr started to become popular, I again started to join the ranks of IM. I created many gigs, and in a 3 month period made around $50 with my brother. There was really no IM involved here, but it was a start to prove that you really can make money online. Things dragged on, until my Polish friend started to talk to me again. Turns out, while I gave up and was on vacation, he had made over $700, while being kicked out of his parents house and being forced to live day to day. Finding this out gave me a new spark of hope. And here I am. Ready to get serious. I now know what qualities are required to earn money through IM, and I believe I have gained them.

I started posting two Youtube videos about watching a movie for free online, while it really just brought you to an affiliate link. I had a feeling that method was outdated, uncreative, and as a result, wasn't going to work. Well, it didn't. I made no sales of ClickBank.

I wanted now to start a website on a great niche. The only problem was -- I didn't have enough money in my PayPal, so just recently I picked up a writing job. By the end of the week, for 10 articles, I would be paid $30. This will give me the start I need. Great.

I read an eBook about getting 5k friends on FB, and then making a fan page, gaining fans, and selling a product. I quickly began, making a Facebook, writing an eBook about getting in shape in a matter of an hour. All I need to do is get 5k friends, which the writer claims will only take me seven days, make the website, and promote the eBook. Not so easy. I am on day two of the guide. By now I should have a few hundred friends, huh? No. I only have 30 something. I suppose the method still could work. It would just take a much, much longer period of time to start it up. I suppose I could operate it in the background. Add it to my project list.

I also read a method about outsourcing a Fiverr gig. I sent out some 30 emails. No responses until I find my phone, finding I had missed three potential customer's calls. Oh well, I'll call them back tomorrow. I had read the thread, and saw that everyone was asking questions, instead of connecting the dots, putting a twist where a dot is missing, and taking action. I took action, and look at the results. Easy.

I had wanted to start a company for about a year now. A company in which I can go about all other ventures under. All I have to do is buy an LLC (Super expensive in NY) and I'm good to go. I found that Idaho only charges about $100 for their LLC's. No recurring fees, nothing. I will register mine there, one I make my first few hundreds. If I can't manage to do that, I don't think I, as a 13 year old, can manage a business.

So brings me to today. It's August 31, Day 1, 1:49 in the morning.

Right now, I am going to bed. Each and every day from now on I will post my earnings and what I did for the day, starting tomorrow (really today)

    Wish me luck!

    Regards,
    CityTech

    DAY 1

Was invited to the beach today, so until around 5, I couldn't get any thing done. When I got home, I called the guy back, regarding a mobile website (outsourced fiverr gig) It was my first call, ever. I called, and asked about it. He said, "Oh, sorry, I already have someone who does that stuff." He hung up. I didn't get a sale, but I didn't do too bad. I didn't choke up, stop talking and hang up, or anything else as I have read on BHW, so I'm not disappointed. I think in a week or so, I will make a website for this service to really start looking professional.

I'm trying to learn what Scapebox, and scraping is. Didn't really find what I was looking for, but I'm sure tomorrow will bring better results.

I managed to get in one 400 word article today. I also got contacted by the guy who buys the articles from me. He said, "I'm going to move you to another project." I'm still awaiting the details on that. I submitted the articles I wrote, sent an PayPal invoice, and I should get $15 soon.

I started to build a website in which there's a huge gallery of funny pictures and comics. I'll insert Adsense ads in there, and soon enough, I'll get the site done, earning a daily revenue of a few bucks.

I'm going to get off now. Get off IM on the computer, not in my mind. Even through my sleep I'll be thinking of ways to increase that PayPal balance. I'm pumped up, yet tired at same time.. What is this?

You may get double-taxed at the end of the year. Once by the state you registered in and again by your home state for operating as a foreign entity. You will still have to register as a foreign entity in your home state and depending on your states regs, you may get taxed or pay fees every year which negates the cost of registering in another state. Do the research on your home state regarding foreign entities, it may save you some trouble with the IRS in the future. Just lookin out. Cheers. ;)

Hey! Thanks for the response. I asked my dad about this, he said as long as I use an Idaho address, phone number, etc, I'm OK. Thanks for bringing this up! I would of been paying money I don't have!

    DAY 2

I was invited Airsofting today, so I didn't even get on until 9 at night. I know. Sucks.

I worked on my website for about an hour. It's about 30% done. I also signed up and got approved for adsense, put the ads in the website, and found they're running great! I'm only doing two per page so it doesn't look so messy.

I also got a free paid SEO Enterprise, so that will help me promote my website once it goes public. I'm still waiting on the $15 from the articles I wrote. I think I'll be getting paid tomorrow.

Didn't do much today regarding IM. Tomorrow all I have to do is go to Church, and I have the rest of the day to IM.
    :)

    DAY 3

Today I finally got paid for the articles I wrote, and completed my website and bought my domain name, and uploaded all the files. For some reason it won't load when I type the address in. Maybe it's just because the domain is new and they need to configure it for it to work or something? I'll call them tomorrow if it still doesn't work. Otherwise, I love HostGator and have never had any problems with them.

I also read into offline marketing. I think that's where the money's going to be.

Make sure that you set up the name servers for the domain correctly.

I didn't have a chance to do anything today. All I could do was find that Stanford offers free courses. I'll be starting one tomorrow, not sure which one yet.

I know I have missed two days, but please do not loose hope. I have entered a new school, and have been very busy. Once I'm settled, I will return to IM. I will probably be back in a few days.
