I'm just wondering would you go for a (.com) or local domain extension example (.co.uk) etc for a business that can deliver services locally but also for international users.

The reason I'm asking is because what if the business website also has a blog and you don't want to just target local readers but worldwide readers also. Will that cause an effect?

For worldwide ranking i would go with .com, but is the business will really target international users, or is it just a possibility ?

Always go with a ".Com" whenever possible, it's still the most authoritative domain extension available and will help your brand/company look more reputable.

If its local only, i'd say a local TLD. Any other case, just go with .com.

I'm really thinking of going for a (.com) extension even though it's going to be a local business because just like you guys said, it does fit better.

I'm just hoping local businesses/clients don't shy away because they might think it's a business in another country because of the extension

You could use both: .com for the global business and local TLD for your country. And you can connect these 2 websites between each other.

Domain reputation is a lot more vital than the domain extension. If I were in your shoes, I would go through the web archive records first.
