Hi, I want to know choosing a domain which hasn't my keyword, will this hurt my ranking?e.g.: my keword is [build your muscle] and my domain is [www.extra.com]

    - Remember that top 10 results of course has the keyword in domain, but my keyword is a long tail with 4 words and I don't want to make the domain more than 6 characters.

It wont hurt your rankings, but at the same time it won't help them.

Remember, when you diversify your backlinks a high percentage of your anchor text links will be domain name, brand name, title, etc. So to avoid any exact match domain name issues, I generally create a domain that's a brand with the keyword in it.

For example, if your domain was extra.com you would have:
    extra.com - X% of links (domain)
Extra - X% of links (brand name)
Extra Muscle Building Website - X% of links (website title)

But, if your domain name contained the keyword you were targeting like ExtraMuscleBuilding.com all of those links would contain words/phrases that were relevant to the keyword you were targeting, but it since it's also a brand you would benefit from both.

    That's my opinion anyway.

I think this would work better than a non-relevant domain name that's less than six characters.

I'm not sure, but i think that I don't need my domain name in anchor text as much I need my keyword in anchor text.
    Foe example: Fiverr.com
I think they don't put the domain name in anchor text [in their backlinks] as much they put their keyword in anchor text, which may be: services for $5, cheap services, micro jobs.
What do you think? I'm not sure anyway.
