    I don't know how many of you have noticed, but in the UK we almost never say 'CEO', it's always "The Chief Exec" pronounced "eggszec" or "The Chief Executive"..

    I've never heard anyone call themselves that in the US, it's always just "CEO".

    So a fun little poll :) Which do you prefer? I really like "Chief Executive". I think it sounds much more authoritarian.

    I really don't care... There are more important things in business than your self given title

    I'm from the United States, so naturally I say CEO. This just made me think of Social Network the movie where he put on his business card "I'm CEO BITCH"

    EDIT: Just saw in your poll you have "I'm CEO Bitch" Didn't even notice until after I posted

    I could say the same about your post. You're in the lounge. At least this post is business related.

    I'm not asking what title people like to give to themselves. I'm asking whether they prefer the UK or US version of the chief executive officer. What's your problem?

    I'm not asking what ego-title people like. I'm just interested in seeing if people like the UK or US title better!

    And the CEO, Bitch should tell people this is a little tongue in cheek. Is there something in the water tonight?

    Yes, that's Zuckerberg's job title on his business card. ;) It's in there for a little humor.

    CEO = Chief Executive Officer
    CFO = Chief Financial Officer
    CTO = Chief Technical Officer

    All 3 terms u mention are "chiefs", "executives" and "officers". So all 3 mean the same. I'd rather be a Chef Executing Omlette and that's what I'm going to do because I'm hungry.

    BTW, above the CEO can be the owner. Owner is not always CEO. CEO is the guy managing the company. Owner is the dude taking all the money. So I'd rather be an owner than a CEO.

    People are totally misunderstanding the question :)

    It's only a fun-poll to see whether people like the UK version or US version. I'm talking about real chief executive officers, not marketers taking titles. In the UK in every company they call themselves "Chief Executive". It's a culture thing and I'm just wondering which people like the sound of, that's all.

    I'm British, but I prefer the British version.

    Dunno why you guys are over-complicating a light-hearted general-interest poll in the lounge!

    This thread seems to be causing a lot of offense for some reason, yet stupid threads like http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/blackhat-lounge/491438-facebook-down.html seem to be ok.

    I'm perplexed. Completely perplexed.

    For me is simply something I'm not interested in. I generally don't like titles. I'm me. That's it. So I don't prefer one over the other.

    Sure, but why come in and attack me :)

    But again, I'm talking about REAL CEO's etc. You need titles in real companies otherwise no one knows who anyone is.

    I don't call myself Chief Executive. This isn't in any way about which people prefer for themselves. You're getting annoyed because you're against SEO's in their boxer shorts calling themselves CEO. I completely agree. I'm talking about the people who run fortune 500 and ftse 250's etc.

    I didn't attacked you. Would not be fair to attack a turtle rofl. Plus turtles can bite.

    I'm not getting annoyed of anything. Is just that for me personally the question makes no sense and it is also irrelevant because if you're in a company then the title you have is based on the business culture in that company or country. So I don't know, I'm just not reading/getting the question the way you asked it probably.

    Never mind me

    Ehehe, you're over-analyzing it. It's just a question like "Do you prefer the red dress or the black dress?" :) We're in the lounge, remember!!

    Ok maybe not but I got a bit nervous when I saw your tentacles frantically swirling around in the vicinity! You are mad after all. :-/

    It's....... not......... about........ the..... job........

    It's a semantics question that's all. I don't understand what's confusing about it. :-/

    'someone' decided to deface the poll anyway. Kinda can't be bothered with this anymore, people are just being way too serious.
