so having used FL and MP, I had a breakthrough learning by observing default settings. Most people use 2-4 mins in FL for automation (Some trainiga, manuals, and posts recommend this too), but the default in MP is 5-20 min.

This forum tends to only share delay times...It doesn't matter what your delays are if your automation time is off. delay times are worthless unless the automation time is also included in the conversation.

Anyways, long story short, i'm making shorter delay times (20-50 sec) and longer automation times (5-12min)

    Peace out,

    m

2-4 minutes on FL are about 5-6 minutes on MP, depending on how you set it up.

As far as I know, FL shuffles tasks and for example follows, waits the time you have as an automation time, then likes, then waits, then follows etc. - depending on your tasks you set up, the automation interval is the time FL will wait in between tasks.

MP follows, likes basically at the same time. Not at the exact same time (since only one action is performed at a time) but it kinda likes and follows in between, which is more random.

Both programs work differently and I'm glad they work differently, because no-one wants to have the same program twice :D

I'm doing fine with longer delays and a shorter automation time, but that's up to you, it ends up being the same. I somehow believe that it's more about how many actions an hour you do (I mean if you look up the api limits they're presented as hourly limits, so yeah) - you can achieve slower action by either increasing the automation time or increasing the delays.

I tend to go with a shorter automation time since I don't like to do actions to quickly.

Just do a little maths and distribute your tasks/actions throughout the day and you'll be good to go.

I've already discussed it here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...nning-accounts-just-heads-up.html#post8656985

When sharing settings, people should share the full settings, not only delays. I agree with you.

Those are good points. I will have to build an excel spreadsheet to figure out the timings to spread across the whole day.

Me personally, I tend to use IG rigorously for 10 minutes, then not at all for a few hours. I might go on a follow rampage - adding 50 in 2 minutes (ie all the IG suggestions), then like all my friend's photos (another 50+). All in the span of 10 minutes.

But I have a friend who is similar to your bot's settings. Every 5 minutes she checks her phone, likes 2 or 3, follows 1 or 2, then gets distracted with something else until the next 5 minutes...

all roads lead to rome, meaning there is no "optimal" setting.

If you would analyze people's usage of IG on their phone, you'd be surprised how many actually use IG differently.

You definitely made good points in your first post, since people really tend to overlook that automation time thing, but there's no "right" way and I guess you just have to figure out what works best for you. : )

I try to use some really random bot settings. There is even the option to stop the tool for x minutes after x follows which gives even more randomness, so it ends up being a mix of delays in between actions.

People using IG on their phone don't have patterns (they may or may not like pictures after following someone, they may comment 10 pictures a day, then not comment at all, you get the idea) and that's what many of us seem to overlook. It's easy for IG to detect patterns.

MP used to be nothing but random when it came to the bot settings, but I've been in contact with the support for quite a long time and I've already requested so many things to avoid the bot to bot in a pattern (pretty sure some other users also requested that) and everything has been added, which is what I love.

I don't even know how many mails I've already written always requesting some new stuff I come up with. Even when it comes to bugs, they react really fast.

When I first bought MP, MP used to always like the same amount of pictures, unless you changed it manually. MP used to have always the same delay in between each follow. The only thing that you could set up back then was the time between operations.

Gladly, this all has changed now.

When people make suggestions, those suggestions are most likely being added in the future.
