I'm on hostgator baby shared plan but it's expensive and not very fast for the price. Planning to migrate on better provider. I'm gonna try vps hosting, im between, hostwinds vps, interserver vps and ionos. What you recommend me? Also, for a website with 200-300 visitors per day is one core enough?

For a website with 200-300 daily visitors, one core on a VPS should be sufficient. Hostwinds, InterServer, and IONOS are reputable providers; compare their plans, read reviews, and consider your specific needs before deciding.

Get something from DigitalOcean for $5-6 and that should work just fine.

It looks good. But i see there is no live chat.

Why do you need live chat?

If you need someone to manage your VPS for you be prepared to pay a lot more. Those tiny servers cost $5 for a reason - they are unmanaged.

Good shared hosting with reasonable resources can handle 200-300 visitors a day without any issues. But then again, be prepared to pay a bit more for managed shared hosting and more resources.

Be aware of providers offering ~$3 per month for the first few months and then charging you $20 per month (like Hostgator, Bluehost, etc, often do).

Also, keep in mind that there's no such thing as high quality, but cheap hosting provider. Especially if we are talking about managed hosting.

I just want to migrate my website. So this digitalocean shared hosting is better than the interserver vps?

Digital Ocean offers VPS servers (droplets) and many other services and does not offer shared hosting. I do not know if DigitalOcean's VPS is better than InterServer's VPS as I have only used DigitalOcean before.

Instead of juggling between ideas of VPS or shared hosting maybe you can let us know what kind of requirements you have for the hosting so I or someone else can suggest alternatives.

You can start by letting us know if you know how to manage a VPS on your own. If not, what kind of monthly budget do you have for your website?
Would you like to use a control panel like cPanel to manage your website?

Regular SSD is good, and NVMe SSD is even better, but what exactly is the issue you are having?

If you are not heavily using disk or aren't on a regular HDD, then the speed difference is minimal. Most service providers use SSD by default these days.

Also, have you made sure that your website isn't the one that's causing the slowness? Using the fastest network, NVMe, fastest CPU, and RAM will not fix your problem if your site itself is slow. Slowness can come from a large number of stupid database calls or having too many weird plugins that make no sense. A slow and poorly written theme can also make a difference.

Try to figure out what is the exact issue you are having and then make a decision based on it.

Use nvme if your site does a lot of random reads/writes to the disk. The performance is generally better.

As for migration, i don’t think digital ocean will help you with that. But, you don’t need it atall. If your existing server has large amount of content, try using rsync.

If rsync is not supported, ask your existing host to zip everything for you and keep it in the public_html folder.

You could then use wget/curl to fetch the zip to your new vps, unzip it (apt install unzip) and carry on. Be sure to delete the backup from the old server after copying, though.

I have used them for more than 6 years. Never had to contact them for any reason.

You might want to consider hostgnome.com they offer good value for money. Their servers are quick and they have a good customer service.

For better performance and value, I recommend Host winds VPS. One core should be sufficient for 200-300 visitors daily.

Try also considering Profvds.com cheap vps solutions as an alternative. Use the VPSPROFVDS promo code 15% discount for all vps servers.
