    Hi Guys,
As chatting with unique visitors can increase conversion I would like to implement one on my website, however I don't know which ones are good, where to even start. Are there any free ones that works on Mobile phones as well so I can chat with them on my mobile phone?

    any help would be appreciated.

By chat do you mean the use of an IM type client? If you do, I would recommend that you look into Zopim. They have a very nice chat client. When you sign up, they put you on a version with all the bells and whistles that has a cost after the trial expires. If you do not sign up, they automatically transfer you to the free version.

To manage your chat client all you have to do is use a browser; therefore, I see no reason why you could not manage it through a browser like dolphin on a mobile phone.

If by chance you actually meant talking to your customers or potential customers, there are many 1 800 call forwarding services available that you could use to list a 1 800 number on your website and have that number forwarded to your mobile phone. Callture Has very reasonable rates, and a free trial for a month.

Live Zilla has a free version. I've used it in the past and looking at it again. I recently tried Live Chat, Inc. and honestly wasn't impress very lacking in features even compared to the free version of Live Zilla.

    thanks for your reply,
I want a chat client that when visitors come to the site, something pops up on my mobile phone and I can chat with them if they choose to. This way the likeliness of conversion increases a lot.

does zopim do it and do u recommend paying for it?
i am not quiet clear about the Free version vs. paid can u explain more pls

    thanks

try zopim. free version allows 1 operator (which would be you) not sure if it works with mobile phone but it will connect with most instant messenger programs, so if those same instant messenger programs will connect with your mobile it might work for you

    zopim>instant messenger>mobile

paid version allows you to have more than 1 operator (which it sounds like you dont need) not sure what other extras you get with paid version.

Try clickdesk, I currently have it installed on my site and able to chat with them via google chat. You get 30 chats free a month. You can also upgrade to get unlimited chats and add more users to it.

If you don't have money to spend, I would suggest purchat.com - It's completely free.

Be careful with putting chat boxes in peoples face when they visit your site.
Our conversion went down when we did that, so now we have the image in a place where they will notice it, so no more floating chat box in their face after x amount of seconds or minutes.

Feedjit works best for me. I can automate response and mostly hide my "spamming" activity by telling inquiring visitors that I found them via chat logs.

I used to manage the Zopim account in the company I was working before.
As it can be useful so generate some leads and help customers, you can also easily lose time with people just asking stupid questions or help for anything, without even checking if your website is about their topic.

But, beside that, Zopim free version is great, you can even set up some triggers if needed. And like someone else said, you can link it with Gtalk and more, and get the messages in your smartphone.

Agreed on this and we did the exact same change and noticed a much better conversion rate.
