From all the tricks, and help I've gotten on this forum I've been able to get one of my original blogs to reach the first page in google. It's in the entertainment niche, but the keyword I'm on the first page for isn't very competitive since it's not a product or anything. Yet it still gets around 10 million global searches/2 million US searches a month. Perfect for the type of blog I run since I'm not going up against anyone actually selling anything. Just thought I'd throw that information out there for any newbie (original content) bloggers wondering how to choose a good keyword to go after.

Well my site has been getting around 50,000 uniques a month since hitting the front page. It's time for me to start selling ad space I think, so I can make some cash from this site. I really have no idea what the rates are for views, niches, or anything. I would guess that if the ads are not related to the content to my site, then I would obviously charge less. If it was largely related to what I had, then I could charge more because it would equal more clicks. Just hoping someone could clear up some of the pricing for me....

50k traffic is nothing special, and entertainment niche is junk. Not worth much.

Understood but was just wondering what ad space for a site in that niche would go for depending on views.

No one would be interested in that. Put another cero to that traffic and you might get some interest.

The niche that I am currently getting into has not much competition and the top sites in google charge $10 - $15 CPM for banner ad space, maybe even a little bit more than that...

I plan on also charging for ads on my blog and my soon to be "real" web site, it only makes sense. You are able to make your own prices and call all the shots. And, I believe that this method will easily earn you more money than adsense or any type of CPA junk. Also, no worries of getting banned by networks or any other crap like that.

All of those ads are extremely targeted. So, in your case, charging $10 CPM could definitely work. Try and get targeted ads though for sure. It will only help.

    I hope this helps :D
