    Hello,

I noticed that a lot of warez websites often changes the extension of their domains .
I'am sur that it is related to DMCA and google results but i don't understand how.

Do you have any ideas why it is effectve ?

    Thank you very much

Let's say they are using .ph domain extension for a while now. Now law enforcement and copyright holders will get in touch with the registry to get that domain suspended. Now its a long process and will take time.. After a few months, when they are half way through, the torrent site simply gets a new domain and redirect the old one to new... So the process starts again and again...

There are also other reasons for switching the domains but this is the main one.

What the Ninja above me said + the fact that some registry`s are more easy to get along with than others when it comes to DMCA.

    Thank you for your clarifications.

Last question : when they change the extension of the domain, does it help to restore the links deleted from google search results due to DMCA complaints ?

Yes or no, depends on stuff you are sharing. But most of the times yes. If you are planning on getting warez site check .to domain.

I don't have any experience with this regard but its my guess that yes, it would restore the links deleted. You can also simply change the url of your page and get the page re-indexed without having to change the extension.

Yes i agree but when there is a lot of removed pages due to dmca + drop of traffic, i think it's better to change the domain or the extension. that's what i'am planing to do anyway i hope that it will work
