I changed the main page wording to be less seo based and more readable and my site went pretty bad on ranking. It maybe unrelated but just wondering if anyone has had any similiar deals. Would restoring to the old page fix this? Perhaps google picked up on something? Ive also been doing some blasts on one keyword that was tough to get to as well as fiverr gigs on that specific keyword and we went from page1 to totally non-exsistant...my other keywords i ranked well with are ok...a little effected here and there but im wondering what your thoughts on this is.

Maybe even a google dance? Maybe I pushed one keyword to hard? Got a flag of somesort?

    Thanks for the help.

i'm no expert here but i wouldn't try anything just yet, i'd wait a day or so see how it panned out. how many links did you get? was it 10k+ or something in a day?

It's hard to tell since you were doing multiple things to the site at once. It can definitely be the content change, though. I had an adsense/article site I tried reformatting to be an ecommerce/affiliate site. The articles were still there, but the home page itself no longer featured one of the articles. Instead it looked like a standard eStore, albeit with about 400 words of text describing featured content. I dropped about 200 ranks. When I restored the previous format and jumped right back up to where I had been previously. This was for a site without heavy backlinking so on page SEO was the major factor.

no like only a few hundred...pyramid style and some slow dripfeeds and nohandseo....

The site does seem to respond well with on page seo...im just going to add in the keywords and see how it goes. The only main alarm is the targeted keyword which is very high competition we went from page 1 to like outerspace.....everything else is ok...but has dropped.

leave it a day and see how it goes, you can always revert the main page then.

Hey dude, if you are using seo quake to check PR sometimes it fails to update it properly because Google temporarily block you, so it will show N/A even though its not.. Check in a while see if you have the same PR.

You wouldn't get de indexed for porn backlinks.. there isn't a problem with that.

I once added a affiliate banner to the top of my blog and it dropped from 1,000 UV a day to 100... messed up my SEO big time.

Yeah its a devastating change in seo actually now that im running rank checker. Some from like 1 to 90....some even worse. I had about 40 keywords in the top 10....with like 30 #1. Now its all screwed. Such a shame the site is totally legit. Do you think a revert to the original page will help or should I just pack in all the keywords on the new page? Now I only have about 8 keywords top 10. Same list.

I think google did some sort of manual review and the other part is the structre or pages that rank have also completely changed.

Also moving things along aside from whats happened what do you guys do to get rank back. I had a feeling this day was going to come with this site, we just were performing too well....but man it was a huge hit all at once.

Think I found the culprit. Was a 20,000 blast pyramid. Instead it wasnt a pyramid the idiot used that word it was all direct link and pinged. Luckily i had 3 different keywords and 3 sites...at the same time unluckily it was only 3 keywords and 3 sites...one being my main site.

Beware with fiverr gigs and how people word it. Is there anyway to deindex their work?

Just so the information is correct...it was actually penguin v1.1 update that took the site down. Nothing more or less. Now to figure out how to get back...results have slid even further and now my sub domain is popping up which is very odd.
