change preferenced domain (www) can change rankings?

    now my site is without www if i redirect it on www and change preferenced domain on webmaster tools can it change my rankings?
    is it safe?
    please if any have experiece write about that

    No, it won't change your rankings. Google will consider www. and not www. are the same website (you can view it with "info:" command on each of your two versions)

    all my baklinks contain only http if i redirected it on www can it filter spam?

    no it won't. but if you are using a preferred method option, then redirect the other url that you are using to the one that you have prioritized.

    It can cause a dance for a couple of days, but it will not cause any changes on a large scale.

    Its totally safe. You can redirect it on www. No worries - ranking remains same.

    I always thought that a domain with www at the beginning, reminds me something 'looking better' that non-www version.
    It's only cosmetics, anyway :)

    It would be interesting to have some statistics about click rate between a "www." and a "not www.". I think a www. is more clicked.
