Change IG account name then delete and restart?

Ok, really looking for some help/advice and feel this is best place to ask some smart folks.

I have a business IG account for my photography business that is Same as website name so really would like to keep it the same account name I, IMO made the mistake of buying followers over a year ago and tried some likes panels. I haven't in months BUT really feeling like starting fresh and only Whitehat methods and being active. Want to do this by the New Year and re-posting my original content. I really feel I am flagged by IG and no way to get unflagged but have a New account...correct.

I read on here many months ago someone saying: Change your account name...like add a 1 to it, then delete it and Immediately create a New account with Original account name (no 1 at end) and you Should have a fresh start.

I hope that made sense and apologize for the elementary question But really would like a fresh start with original name if possible and work my account the old school way.

Seeing if anyone has experience with starting over But kept same username.

i changed an @handle and it wasn't available for a re registration

Did you change the handle before by adding something to it...then deleting...then trying to get the original handle back without the changes to it? Just making sure.
