Hello everyone! I've been on BHW for a few months reading many great threads to help me start out. I'm only a high school student with not a lot of money to invest with (< $100). I was planning on spending money for hosting but I'm not sure if I will make enough money to atleast make up for the hosting costs. Can anyone tell me how successful they were when they first started? Thank you very much!

Try out cheap, reliable hosting first for only one website so you can save on hosting. Success rates differ depending on a lot of factors like the niche itself, the content you make, and the SEO. The thing in IM is you can't really quantify success % because you're depending on third-party platforms (Google, FB, etc).

If its your first time through I'd take it as a learning experience and see what you can do with either a free hosting or nearly free hosted solution. The odds of you making massive mistakes on your very first time are high enough that you may want to do a cheap/free dry run and see if you can practice the execution and do anything with that set up.

What exactly were you intending to DO however? How do you intend to make money and what route are you taking (affiliate, Adsense, etc)?

Keep your costs low or non existent, spend time learning the in's and out's of the field. Really really really do a lot of research and reading on the forum before doing anything.
Follow the noobie guys, start with something that costs 0$ and get a sense of how to earn that first buck.

Read the Journeys thread and follow some people and see what they do.
My advice is start social like FB groups, or YT, and maybe link to a free site with monetization.

Use analytics and learn from them. Learn basic SEO.
Look at sites on flippa.com to see how they earn money.

First of all you should start an account in social networks such as Facebook, Twitter etc. Like wise it is good to have account in Google+.

Write the quality contents in your website. This is the most of the person do to increase the ranking. Choose the unique keywords that relate to your niche site.

Use PBN to build backlinks for your site. Or use guest posting which is more powerful than blog posting, will raise the rank at faster rate.

If you start out with engaging videos and content articles, you'll do fine. What you might want to do is what everyon eelse does, post in your own words about popular events that the big accounts in your target niche are talking about (other than themselves). You'll link it to creative content and monetize that the best way your audienc ewould response to. It is a good idea to collect data as well, so some form of visitor tracking analytics will help out a lot. Heatmap, Google Analytics, Prosper 101, etc.

Finally you might want to learn psychology so you can better sell to people and make more money. Your benefits of knowing what your customer wants and which emotions make them buy is that you can trigger that sale again and again. You only grow more rich with such knowledge, so start Google searching today!

Don't focus on the hosting part. You should focus more on the possible niches you choose, do a research on that. The hosting is a small part.

And DON'T go for an expensive package. At the start, you should go with the cheapest plan and build your website.

Later, you can upgrade your hosting if necessary.

We also have a web hosting plan with $0.50, if you are interested check our thread below.

Chance of success? 0% for first time, maybe 10% second time. You gotta fail a few times first.

You will not know unless you try. My first site was a game niche site. Ran for 8 months. Made around 3k off of it. Then it got hit with a mass spam. Deleted it and moved on. Just grab some cheap hosting like the packages from name cheap and just go for it mate. Wish you the best of luck.
