I had a blog with about 5 articles, until I installed CC. Now i have about 12 I've been adding about 3 a day with CC but since then my google rank has dropped about 3 pages. Is the CC causing this? Or is it another outside force?

Could you elaborate a little more,
What is the pagerank of your home page?
Is your wordpress theme SE optimized?
Do you submit sitemaps to Google webmaster tools?
Have you employed essential SEO plugins?

Yes, I am SEO optimized, I submit a sitemap to google usually after I make the posts for the day. It was a key word string that was bringing my page to about the 12th result on google, now ive dropped to about number 40.

Well i'd say it's definitely not CC coz i've been using it on a couple of blogs for "lets say" 5 months and have never seen a post being depleted like that.

may be your domains not Aged or maybe it's Pagerank.

Well i saw this video of Matt Cutts on Google video and according to Matt duplicate content isn't a problem but i remember a News site took some of my original content added some more and posted it to their site and their site easily took over my SE ranking for that keyword.

No one knows how G00gle calculate their SERPS, those who know definitely would not say it to you or me.
I think it is too early to draw any conclusions about your blog. There are many factors that may affect your google rank, but if you suspect that CC will affect your google rank negatively, just stop using it

I suppose to stop using it would be the easiest option. My blog has only been up around 2 weeks, so I am probably over analyzing things as of this point. Thanks for the input!

I don't think the duplicate content piece would be as much to blame as the fact that CC may be leaving a footprint. I don't use it so I don't know but if it leaves a footprint and google decides that these re-hashed CC sites shouldn't rank as highly, they just wave their magic wand and devalue any site with that footprint.

usually first month of first few weeks i'll get VERY good ranking for certain keywords.
some I can even achieve top 10.
but after that period, it might drop to page 42 :D
    i believe it's sandbox problem.
i'm now trying with age domain and will tell you guys how it works ;)
