    I did this case study back in Dec 2011 and have posted it in my Private forum (don't ask me for the url, it's private for my own case studies).

    My previous thread: -->
    How I survived Panda 3.3 - An Optimization Guide - HARDWORK REVEALED

    Here's The Exact Post:

    I have been thinking about this case study for quite some time. I have a website www.EMDxxx.com with 90K Exact Search Volume. Am dancing between 3rd and 4th Page. There are a couple of Country specific EMD's available/unregistered. Eg. www.EMD.co.in or www.EMD.org.in

    We all know Google values EMD on the contrary from some critics. Let's see how it works for a country level EMD if we 301 redirect it to an established site sitting at 4th page.

    DAY 1:
    28th Dec 2011

    Registered:
    www.EMD.co.in and www.EMD.org.in (cost me $8 [IMG])

    Even they are Country (India) specific domains, I will be targeting only Google.com . Hosted them on 2 separate C class Ip's from seohost.com.

    301 redirected both the new domains using cpanel to the Main site. (Wildcard Redirect)

    PRESENT RANKING:

    [IMG]

    SEO/ Link Building on those domains:

    ---- Built 500 High PR Blog posts and 2000 Social Bookmarking to the Newly created domains. (used 5-6 keywords)

    ---- Sent 50K Auto Approved Blog comments to each Domain. (used 10-12 keywords) (TOTAL 100K)

    RANKING AS ON 2nd JAN (main keyword):

    [IMG]

    CASE STUDY CLOSED

    Conclusion:
    It works.. !!

    I might have got a better ranking if I would have tried to index the emd.co.in and emd.org.in domains with a simple wordpress script with 2-3 spunned content and 301 redirected it. Nevermind, it worked and got a good bump in the SERP's with a small budget. :p

    REPUTATION will be much appreciated.

    Looks interesting. May be if you had tried putting spun content on the new EMDs first and then redirect them, that could help more.

    Just for clarification, did you build links to the indian domains before or after you redirected them?

    Do we need EMD domain? I guess EMDx.com would be also good? Can you confirm this?

    so anyone tried this:
    EMDx.com ---> EMD.com
    EMDx.net ---> EMD.com

    I have a MNS that I sandboxed from too high a link velocity when it was too young. If I throw up another MNS in the same niche and 301 the sandboxed site to the new site would that help or hurt the new site? The old site is EMD.com but EMD.org is available.

    get the EMD.org and try to rank the EMD.org.. Once it hits the 2nd or the 1st page. 301 the old to the new one.

    Did you put these domains in webmaster tools to make them country specific (targeting US google) or just 301'd them in cpanel and blasted away

    I guess he done it the easy way.Anyway,we can tweak this method in a LOT of ways,but for a lot of newbies,there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
