Hey guys, i'm setting up a new 'playful' Case Study here to see how possible it is to rank a website using 1999 style keyword spam methods.
I am going to take a basic EMD based around a medium level competition keyword and fill it with hundreds and hundreds of pages of the same spammy keywords over and over again, with no real structure or basis or content besides that and we will just see what happens.
Oh, and I am only going to build spammy blog comment backlinks to it using JUST that single keyword.
The goal being to see if we can get it in the top 100 pages on Google for its keyword with only these methods.
This is not to do anything else except essentially 'play' on Google and see if we learn anything in the process.

Prediction: It ranks. Then it disappears.

That's what I believe will happen to, but I'm more curious as to how long it ranks before disappearing.....

It's a bad time to begin an experiment of this nature, actually. Maybe wait until after Penguin 2 bakes into the index.

Maybe it will be interesting to see what happens with the site as it is picked apart by Google though....

I imagine it'll suffer the same swift kick in the nuts as it's equivalents have. If you can rank it after P2... that, my dood -- that's news.

I'm not trying to up my post count :)) This forum is full with spammy case studies...
Why don't you try to create a quality one instead of spamming and ruining a site ?

    Update:
EMD is up and online with a bunch of pages.
All of the pages have the Title tag as the KW, meta descrip is the KW, h1 on the page as the KW, and then a short bit of text constantly repeating that it is a site for KW. Then there is an <HR> and below that is a variety of just blasts of the same KW all anchored to the site. Each pages does this with the anchors all linking to the homepage.
I set up blog commenting blasts for the site, all for the same KW as anchor.

    Lets see what happens!

??? Use the search term for that, because if you do not know you're in need of a long explanation and I would rather this thread not turn into a How-To Choose Keywords tutorial. You post on here quite a ton, so I'm not sure if trolling me or actually asking....

Let me guess you went to Google AdWords Keyword tool and it told you it were medium competition? Lol.

Sorry I don't get why you wan't to make a case study about ranking a term in top100? Seriously it makes no sense what so ever. You could rank any spammy domain in top100, so I don't really get it. Or did I miss something?
