I am a big believer that besides a H1 tag, filename, and page title, onpage SEO doesn't matter too much, it's mostly about the incoming links. I have an innerpage I have been working on lately, it is www.site.com/keyword.html. Keyword gets 14,000 exacts per month. 1.5M results in google. I currently have a PR4 on it, and it was ranked #9 in Google, then fell back to #13. As I write this it fell out of google, but will bounce back. What I just realized is that I created the page using my testimonial page and I haven't changed the title of the page, the keyword is not in the title. So I am about to change my page title and see if it has a dramatic effect on my SE rankings for that keyword. Also to note, the page has about 100 words on it. And I am going to expand that to 400-500 in a week or two. I just thought I would share this with everyone to see how much the keyword in title will effect the ranking. My opinion is I'll get back to around 10. A big jump would be nice!
