CASE STUDY Overview: I've created a Clickbank product; it's an informational eBook. It's not in an internet-related niche, I suppose you could say it's in the Health niche. I plan to rank the sales website using SEO in order to make direct sales. I won't be using email marketing; and in the week the product has been live in Clickbank some affiliates have begun trying to sell it; it's very little traffic, and the product is yet to make a sale. My Experience: I have agency-level experience in Design and Programming. I'm at quite a high-level in both; and could easily be on 150-200k working out of an agency. I hate having a boss however; and prefer working for myself. I also have other sources of income. SEO-Wise, I've ranked in some very tough niches over the years. I've always been big on buying services however, and won't be doing so much for this project. I designed the website myself; wrote the book; sales copy; and will be writing all articles on the Tier One myself. I'll be using a super-spun article on Tier Two which I'll be writing myself. The Keywords: I WILL be revealing the niche, after I rank. Negative-SEO is very real right now, so I won't be letting some smartass with scrapebox kill this case study. I'll not only be giving out the niche, I'll also be giving out some of my Tier One Web 2.0's so you can see how I do it. If anyone really wants to find the site; they could. I'm sure some of you will - so please don't give it out in the thread until I do. This is supposed to be a learning experience for everyone who follows, be fair. I understand fully that any number of bad things could happen once I give out the site, and I really don't care. At most this site could make 4k/month I predict, it's not the end of the world. Here are the Exact figures, for Global Search. I'll be checking my rankings on Google.com - but will be checking from Australia, so it may be out slightly until data-centers re-align .etc. The Site has been added to GA and GWT, it is indexed. The broad term is worth 110,000 searches per month. KW1 - 14,800 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW2 - 14,800 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW3 - 9,900 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW4 - 8,100 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW5 - 5,400 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW6 - 2,900 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW7 - 2,400 - currently not in the Top 1000 KW8 - 1,300 - currently not in the Top 1000 SEO Strategy: On-site: The website is hand-coded by myself. It doesn't have a CMS. It's done in PHP, with perfectly cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS. It has jQuery elements in it. The On-site isn't 100%, but it's quite close. I believe post-penguin, leaving a few 'title' tags off 'a' elements probably makes it all look a bit more natural .etc. This is just my theory, I don't have anything to back it up with. Off-Site: Tier One: I'll be building 20x Web 2.0 Properties, such as Weebly and Wordpress. These aren't going to be your typical 400-word with an image properties. Each will have a minimum 3000 words on them, unique images (see my image spinning technique thread), possibly some videos; and in most cases will have many pages, such as "About Me" .etc. It will look like a REAL blog in all cases. I will also be creating roughly 20 High-PR Niche-Relevant Do-Follow Low-OBL Blog Comments. These aren't easy to find; but in my experience are incredibly powerful. I'll be doing A LOT of harvesting with scrapebox then culling lists to make this happen. Tier Two: I'll be creating roughly 200 Web 2.0 Properties, all using articles from a super-spun master article I will be making. This will be human readable and grammatically correct; if anyone is truly interested in this method, I'll post it when I get some time; but it's modeled off what ExpertPeon has been doing. I'll be paying someone to manually create these properties, and they'll be inserting video's, images, and also many of them will have multiple articles and look like real blogs. I'll also be Social Bookmarking for the Tier Two, but I'll only be doing a maximum of 5 bookmarks, randomly chosen from a huge amount of sites. I'm yet to decide if I'll just pay someone to do this, or buy a program. I won't be going overboard with this. Tier Three: - 5000 wikilinks from an ultra-spun article (different one to Tier Two) - 5000 articles from an ultra-spun article (different one to Tier Two) - 100,000 Low-OBL links from blackhatlinks.com (I'm not affiliated with them) Additional Services: I'll be using a package from Vita-rank purely for diversity. The real fire-power will be coming from the Web 2.0's at Tier One which have been supercharged full of link-juice, but I've used the Vita-Rank service before (I'm not affiliated with them) and found it has excellent diversity; much more than I can be bothered to do. Other Info: This is using a niche-relevant (contains main keyword) domain I won at a GoDaddy Auction, it's 2 years old, but has no links pointing to it. Competition: #1 - Majestic says: 35 citation, 34 trust. Has 400 referring domains, 1600 backlinks. Is a sub-page of a site. #2 - Majestic Says: 38 citation, 34 trust. Has 150 referring domains, 350 backlinks. Is a sub-page of about.com - so huge domain authority, but it's just a page. Expected Results: No Idea!!! I'd like to be ranking #1 for most keywords within 3 months, and have to do minimal up-keep after that. I'll be doing this slowly, and will keep you all updated as I build links. I'm using insane quality, but I think that's how it should be done for long-term strategies. I'll be informing you of the following: - Rankings - Traffic - Sales Let me know your thoughts guys! I'll keep you all updated a couple of times per week. Will be beginning my linkbuilding campaign tonight with my Tier 1 (it'll take a few days to knock out due to other work commitments).
