    Hey everyone,

When surfing I encountered this strange website

It is holding 1st position for a 60,500 exact search a month keywords

However, it goes against every general SEO belief

It doesn't have a privacy policy or a contact form

The Keywords density is terribly low

And the Webmaster even sells spam link in footer

    Here is the link

    Code:
datingwebsites(you know what is in here)org
    ranking for dating websites

    How did they do it?

Part of it is that they have lots of links out to very high quality sites, probably reciprocal since they generate traffic for the site, which also happen to be a list of sites that are exactly what someone who searches for "dating websites" is looking for.

The title "Top 10 Dating Websites" probably isn't bad for search engine click through, which would also increase their ranking. And nobody searching for dating websites will bounce from such a comprehensive list, increasing their ranking even more.

I didn't go through their backlinks, but I see they have 143 domains linking in, not a ton but if they're all quality links and focused on the one keyword it's possible. And it might not look like it because their navigation sucks but they've got ~200 pages indexed.

The site is a great example of how less is more sometimes. It's all about giving the user what they're searching for and in this case it's a comprehensive list of links to dating websites.
Google is getting very good at replicating which sites a human would want to find from their search and placing those at the top of the searches, and I don't know anyone who would say this isn't a good result for "dating websites".

Keywords density is not even a requirement. as long as you have the keyword in the articles at least once or twice. That is fine. Google even said with articles that have 5% or even 10% keyword density are articles that are most likely not gonna make much sense or going to be kinda spammy. Those articles are the ones that are low quality in G's eyes.

They seem to have a lot of link exchange links..

And from the past few months, there links have been declining (according to ahrefs)..

Another proof why Google is crazy.

The do have strong backlinks which is probably the reason of strong rankings. Content is important but backlinks are even more in order to gain the trust of search engines.

Actually this sums up Google nicely. There's no great content, a few pages of content I just checked didn't pass Copyscape and it's full of affiliate links which are probably cloaked. Even the posts contain just one paragraph followed by links to affiliates.

I doubt it would pass a manual review. But good luck to him/her. Take the money while they can.
