With SEO being what it is today, it is hard to fully gauge the effects of any link building method unless you run a case study using ONLY that method.

That being said, I have had a Social Monkee Premium account sitting around for quite some time. For those of you who aren't familiar with Social Monkee, it is a site that allows you to create social bookmarks on a private network on a daily basis. Recently they have upgraded their network and released it as Social Monkee 2.0.

I have heard many mixed reviews about it, and I want to test its power by myself. I will be testing its power as a first tier of links. I am testing it on a fairly new site with no other backlinks built to it. I am doing this not only to test the Social Monkee service, but to test the power of Social Bookmarks in general, as I feel their value has depreciated recently.

I am trying to rank an easy/medium keyword.

The keywords current ranking is 0 with 0 backlinks built.

I have created 200 bookmarks directly to the site's main page and an inner page today. I will continue to bookmark the inner pages on a daily basis, and report back in this thread with ranking updates if and when they occur.

I guess it's a bit early to see results yet but I'll be following. I've been wondering about using it recently, especially as I see it's currently $7 for a lifetime membership.

Yep. It is definitely a good value, but I have yet to see its effectiveness.
The links it gives you are mostly on PR 0 or PR N/A domains.

We will see though...

Nice to see you doing a case study to determine how social bookmarks only (do-follow in this case) affect the rankings. I am going to keep an eye on your thread.

Good luck :)

UPDATE: Just submitted another 300 bookmarks to 3 category subdomains of the site.

Keyword Ranking: Still 0

I was looking into this as well. I am very curious what kind of results you will get. Add a subscriber

Please keep us informed with your tests! (does this platform allow you to diversify the anchors?)

Really cool case study! I believe social backlinks really help a lot, and one of my first really successful sites used social backlinks as much as possible (like wp-auto tweet, etc). Good luck with the study!

Yeah. The titles you choose are your anchor texts and you can use up to 20 different titles.

UPDATE

250 more links pointed at money site inner pages for keyword.

Keyword Ranking: Still 0

I have it. Its good for one thing & one thing only: getting ur links indexed. Otherwise blows & they constantly pimp shitty WSOs to u.

I hate that shit. They market a new product to me every single time I log in and not a single one is a quality product.

It seems like a lot of work to do just to get a link indexed.

For indexing the links you can use the Linklicious free account which is good for 40 backlinks a day.

I already use a Lindexed paid account. However, I wouldn't rely on only this. It is important to build links to your backlinks too. My preferred method is SB blasts.

I hope it will work out for you, but I doubt you will get where you need to go

i agree with you, i have tried that for few sites but nothing happened. i don't thing that auto everything tools will help for ranking keywords. either you pay someone do manually or do it yourself. IMHO
