Hi

I am trying to get hit from Pinterest to my eco friendly cars blog.

Do you think Pinterest works for car niche?

Are there any suggestions or tricks that you can tell me?

Thanks for your help.

of course it works, it works really good for anything visual, you should also try instagram as well. As for pinterest, start with the basicas, grow 5-10 boards on different car related keywords, follow people, comment, re-pin stuff from other people and also update your boards daily, in a few weeks you'll start to see everything moving.

I dont think Pinterest is really worth the effort for cars. Recipes and Handbags is really where its at.

(Should clarify. Own some big car boards. Get some interaction and a little traffic but not worth the effort compared to the time it took to build up to big followers)

First of all thank you all for your replies...

I am just following people. What will be the effect of commenting, re-pining? Is it necessary?

Yeah Pinterest is full of females thats right. But sometimes i get good traffic from pinterest.

I've never been into the car niche to be honest, but I don't think it would work too well on Pinterest.
Keep in mind 80% of pinterest members are female. And over 90% of pins are from women (src: http://marketingland.com/report-92-percent-pinterest-pins-made-women-83394)
I believe pinterest is a bad social network for manly stuff like cars. I would favor Facebook or maybe IG.

Well Facebook is really hard to grow pages and it is too hard to increase the engagement of posts. Do you have any tricks or method to be successful on Facebook?

So how does Tumblr work? It is just a social blog right?

You mentioned eco-friendly cars. Maybe you should approach it from an Eco-friendly authority and car is one of them. So create a bunch of eco-friendly boards tailored as many as you can to women (e.g. energy savings around the house, solar-power sunrooms, green nurseries, cute hybrid cars, etc.). Previous comments are right in a sense that Pinterest is mostly women and cars are just not big. You're gonna have to pull audience from similar interest to get exposure.
