Okay so I love the wp-o-matic plugin, i think it's effective at what it does, and lightweight at the same time. But I am having a problem setting up the cron-jobs to work on my dreamhosting. In the WP-O-MATIC settings tab, where it has the cron-job settings, it says the following:

    Cron command:

    */20 * * * * /usr/bin/curl http://www.mydomain.info/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=3e4a5ffb

    WebCron-ready URL:

    http://www.mydomain.info/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=3e4a5ffb

I've tried inputting various combinations of the above code into my dreamhost, but none seem to work. For those unfamiliar with dreamhost, they have a built-in web interface for setting up cron-jobs with the following options

    User:
    (shell users only!)
    Title:
A friendly name for this cronjob
    Email output to:
Leave blank to disable sending emails
Command to run: (max 1000 characters)
Use full paths to files and programs.
    Use locking:
Prevents this job from running more than once at a time. This is generally a good thing!
    When to run:

So I was under the impression that I should put my shell username, any title, no email, and for the command input the wp-o-matic "webcron" command (http://www.mydomain.info/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=3e4a5ffb). Then select how often I want it to run (the last dreamhost cron-job option), which would determine when wp-o-matic posts.

I set it up that way and waited 24 hours+, nothing happened... So I'm left with a few points of confusion:

    1. should I select the "unix cron" checkbox in the wp-o-matic options or not? (previously I had it selected)

    2. Which options determine how often wp-o-matic posts? The time settings I choose in the wp-o-matic settings OR the timing I choose in dreamhost for the cron-job to activate?

    3. Which cron-job command from wp-o-matic am I supposed to use?

    4. ANYTHING ELSE, JUST PLEASE HELP ME ACTIVATE THIS!! :D

    THANKS!

Actually i went through a bunch of different dreamhost pages they had about cron-jobs, including that one, but it was a ton of information and i guess skimmed through it too quickly

I just went and took a look at that link and it seems I may have the answer to part of my question, but if someone could just verify that it is correct. The following would be the command to use in the dreamhost panel:

    /usr/bin/curl http://www.luvly-money.moneystuff.info/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cron.php?code=3e4a5ffb

then just select the time intervals in their panel.

I'm still unclear about two things though:

    1. I should in fact select the "Unix Cron" checkbox in wp-o-matic, correct?

    2. I'm still not sure what will determine the posting intervals, the wp-o-matic time settings, or the cron-job time interval settings?

    Thanks!

Thanks, I'll give this a shot and if it doesn't work I might try that plugin.

As for Dreamhost, I just added them as a secondary host (for my splogs) because of the sweet deal they are having right now (or were, not sure if it's still going), you should check it out. I got 2 years of unlimited hosting for $2x.00, which = pretty much free :D
