I can't seem to figure out why my dad's ecommerce site won't rank well for a specific set of related keywords, and I'd like some help. It ranks #1 for a most brands that he sells, but for this one, his largest brand, he's in the mid 20's. There's maybe 10 total competitors selling it, and he should rank on the first page for them hands down. I think his metrics are decent, relative to the competition. And, his on-site SEO is better. But, all we care about right now is getting this one brand at the top of the rankings ASAP. I'd be happy to share his site URL and competitor sites, and pay for analysis and/or help ranking.

Maybe another (or better?) question is, what we need to do to get all these numbers up...Here are metrics for his site vs. biggest competitors:

    Dad?s Site:
    TF ? 33
    CF ? 24
    PA ? 34
    mR ? 3.21
    DA - 23
    PR - 2
    Backlinks 18,900 (from 73 domains)

    Competitor 1:
    TF ? 17
    CF ? 13
    PA ? 40
    mR ? 5.32
    DA - 28
    PR - 0
    Backlinks 33,500 (from 217 domains)

    Competitor 2:
    TF ? 33
    CF ? 24
    PA ? 32
    mR ? 7.13
    DA - 28
    PR - 3
    Backlinks 18,900 (from 73 domains)

    Competitor 3:
    TF ? 18
    CF ? 32
    PA ? 31
    mR ? 4.61
    DA - 22
    PR - 3
    Backlinks 600,000 (from 50 domains)

    Competitor 4:
    TF ? 44
    CF ? 30
    PA ? 45
    mR ? 5.40
    DA - 34
    PR - 3
    Backlinks 2,800 (from 331 domains)

    Thanks in advance!

Seems like most of what he's doing is working so don't go doing something stupid and ruin the rest of the site going after one brand.

That said it looks like it's probably backlinking. The competition probably has a better profile for that brand. Could also be you're doing wring on-site on that one page. Maybe over optimized or under. All you're giving us is to go on is domain stats and total backlinks. Which isn't much, not that I'd recommend posting another more here... but my best guess would be your site is lacking A) link diversity and B) auithority links to that one page. Could be way off though.

May be comp are using much powerful links than him. May be his onpage seo lacks for that keywords.
