    Hi,

    My current "setup" is this:

    domain1.com
    domain1.com/main-keyword (exact duplicate of domain1.com)

    Right now, "domain1.com" is ranking well for "main keyword". I'm planning on moving my site to a bigger one, so I want Google to rank domain1.com/main-keyword instead.

    What I did was to use rel canonical in domain1.com this way:

    <link rel=”canonical” href=”domain1.com/main-keyword” />

    After a week, Google has crawled the URL again, but it hasn't updated the URL displayed in the SERPs. Any recommendation?

    If Google still doesn't update this, I plan on redirect 301 domain1.com to domain1.com/main-keyword

    Thanks!

    Hey, what do you mean 'exact duplicate'? Did you duplicate the page, or whole website on CMS?

    Just the page. The domain still the same, so it's like trying to replace "domain1.com" for "domain1.com/main-keyword" in the SERPs.
