Cannot remove widgets from new theme (Green Park 2)

I find a lot of times when I install a new theme there will be widgets on the page even though when I go the widgets setting there are no widgets inside the sidebar. It's so frustrating, I don't know why there would be widgets there unless I put them there, don't make sense. Must be some way to fix this though, any ideas?

Hey you can remove the default widgets by editing the "sidebar.php" through theme editor or just place any new widget through widget settings, it will replace the existing default.
