As the winter approaches, the time has come for me to move to a sunnier place. I've set my eyes on Canary Islands. Is there any blackhatter who's living there? What are the average rent (long term)/living costs there? I don't want to look at the estate agency pricing, as it's almost always too high. Just want to know what locals (if any here) have to say.

    Thanks,
    David

Its never cheap in the canarys especially over winter. Best place to start might be to go to ownersdirect and send a blanket email for a long term let. Ive gotten good deals back before from people who dont need the hassle of renting week to week.

More or less. This time, however, trying to find a more permanent place. Money is not an issue, but the cheaper, the better anyway, as the cash is tied up to some projects.

If costs are a concern then Canary Islands are a bad bet. Expensive place.
