Hy*dra recently changed their payment method and no longer send checks by mail,so my only options are get paid by wire or ACH (direct deposit).

I would rather not use wire,to avoid all the fees, and prefer to be paid direct deposit, although hy*dra states that direct deposit is for US only and i am from Canada.

Do any Canadians here get paid by direct deposit ?I dont see why they cannot send direct deposit to canada.

I would like to ask my AM,but i just dont want the spotlight on my account.

    Please let me know.

I'm not with hydra, however I do know a little bit about banking

you may be able to either

    1) find out bank / transit / account number as it would appear to a US bank. Most US accounts have an alternate label this way (so that US cheques clear through the US system) (this is very hard to do and has the potential to have money dissapear into thin air for months on end)

    2) open an account at a cdn subsiduary in the US. RBC has Centura in the SE, BMO has harris, TD has someone else. I know that with RBC they're set up to make setting up a us based centura account (relatively) easier for us.

The other benefit of going with #2 is that you can get a po box in the US, then have a US Paypal account (and actually be able to move US money from paypal to a US bank account!) (for those who don't understand what I just said, here in Canada we can have a US$ account at a Canadian bank, and a US$ paypal account, but they can't be linked - if we want to transfer funds, we have to go US$ --> C$ exchange, then sent C$ to paypal, then exchange back again to US$. If anyone has a way around that that isn't a halfway-hack, please let me know)

I have an RBC us business account in canada but i doubt that will work for direct deposit so i will look into RBC Centura, if i could tie these 2 accounts together, that would be great. Thanks for the heads up.
