Can you work while listening to music?

I have no choice ... music or people loud voices 24/7
I can work with music/songs anything to cover street noise
but if I want read a book then I listen to classic music ...

I used to, yes. Now it distracts me. Also no clue as to why this happened.

I do give this a 30 minutes listen each morning before I start work, with headphones, has to be stereo as the difference in each headphone is what makes the frequency.

For the nay sayers, here's the science behind it

Far fetched, placebo or not, I felt the change the first time, and continued throughout the last 4 months.

Yes, I do. Music helps me to keep my focus on the work.

I listen to a hip hop and funk station every day, and just turn off, work, and enjoy the music in a flow. Couldn't imagine not having music while working! I'm not sure i'd be motivated to work hahah
Wow, I envy you guys. I'm super aware of every sound and my focus drops significantly when I listen to anything. Can only listen to music when I'm chilling after work.

What has improved since you started to listen to these frequencies?

Depends. I usually do keyword research with music on because it is repetitive, manually checking SERP etc. However, anything that requires brain power (editing content delivered by writers) I cannot do it with music on or it will take me forever.

Yes. A good soft lofi or dream pop almost always plays in the background while I work.

Mostly focus, short memory and a bit more dopamine to actually get stuff done.

Music all the time! Mostly instrumental stuff. Heady stuff. Thinking man's stuff, because when I'm working I'm thinking!

Y'all ever feel like you're dancing on the keyboard as you pound out code? Just me? Okay then...

I usually did, but now I can't...
Something most have changed about my attention span.

I like to have background music if the work is simple and it doesn't require focus. But for something like reading and studying I find it's very hard to do if there's music around.

Depends on the music that I'm playing. If I have classical piano I on a low volume I can get some stuff done but anything else will mess with my head lol

Some people listen to certain sounds or types of music because apparently, certain types can boost productivity. Me personally though, the music is just sort of background noise, so I am indifferent to it.
