Can you use large videos on your front page without Google seeing it as loading slow?

I've never done video on the homepage but I'm doing a site for a friend where it pretty much needs some typ eof video to show how it works. Is there a way to add video without it affecting site load times from Google's view? I gues if it's just a youtube video it doesn't really need to load, but I was hoping something a little more slick looking and not some youtube video.
    Thoughts?

I personally think that a video on the front page will def slow the site down... I think your best bet would be a youtube or a vimeo vid... They really wouldn't slow down the load time and you would still get the same effect that you wanted. Just my two cents Good luck...

Thanks. I'll have to figure something out. I'd really like some time of animation to show the product without having to click play.
