I just came across this on Facebook today and it makes me sick.

The University of Utah is buying animals from local animal shelters and using them for cruel and painful experiments and then leaving them to die.

One example is a cat named Robert. They drilled a hole into Robert's head and planted some electrodes which would send shocks through his brain. You can read more about it here: http://www.peta.org/FeatureUtahLabsRobert.asp

Some other things they do is cut open animal's necks and plant devices into them and jam plastic tubes down their throats.

Personally, I feel these people should have all this same shit done to them and then be slowly and painfully killed. Unfortunately, I can't do that. So I'm hoping that all of you could take a few minutes to help these poor animals out.

All you need to do is go here: https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=3155&s_src=paa_like&c=pfblike and first "Like" it on Facebook and share it with all of your friends. Then at the bottom of that page, you will see a pre-filled out email form where all you need to do is enter your name and email address and hit "Send" and it will automatically be sent to the shelter that is selling these innocent animals to the University of Utah.

Then here is another page to check out: https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=2673&autologin=true . Also share and "Like" this on Facebook and then at the bottom of this one is an email form that's already filled out that can be sent to the University of Utah itself telling them to stop doing these cruel experiments on animals.

This will only take about 2 minutes of your time guys and these poor animals will really appreciate it. Animals are no different from humans. They feel pain and have feelings and emotions too. Unfortunately, they can't speak up and defend themselves like we can so they need people like you and me to help them.

Thanks for your time.

I understand how you may feel about these experiments, but these experiments is necessary at human's current level of technology to create progress with medical science. Every medicine, medical cure, and medical technology you enjoy today exist because of similar experiments in the past to learn new information. The only difference is now every joe have access to cameras. If such experiments was not done in the past on animals there would be a lot more of dead or sick people suffering and we would still believe that sickness is caused by "demons" instead of viruses, mutations, etc.

The large majority of scientists do not do these experiments out of enjoyment, but out of necessity. As science progress and better ways to experiment come about, these type of experiments will eventually not be needed as much.

This pissed me off real bad,it's not cool at all.Ok so you use frogs, rats and guinea pigs to experiment on them but drilling holes and shit?!.I would enjoy drilling a hole into the researchers heads at the university and experimenting on them with a big grin on my face.A bunch of retards with no soul!

Yep. I could honestly sit there and drill a hole into the researcher's heads and not feel the least bit of remorse. They deserve it.

I agree with you but if we don't experiments on animals....then how do we get cures and such things?

Animals are no different from humans you are right but thats not how scientist work. They are so selfish with their ambition its crazy.....

Things like this really really annoy me!

Why?

Because no one looks further than the information put out in front of them.

Pro's of stopping this....
Less animals hurt

Con's of stopping this....
People loose their jobs
Research is slower or stops (research designed to help)
Animal shelters become over filled/full
As animal shelters are full animals are left to die on the streets

People fail to see the full picture and these are by no means all the pro's and con's but just a sample... im sure you could take it further!

But really do you even know how many animals each household would have to have in order for all 'pets' to be in homes? Well it is certainly more than just 1 each.

Lewi

should watch masterchef its on hulu...a hindu lady has never ever killed a single animal or creature until the that fateful airing.

How sad, she was in tears to kill a crab while the Chinese girl basically just ripped it apart.

This is needed for research. They dont just kill the animals for fun you idiots.

All sorts of people sitting on death row or spending life in prison that we could "test".

They test people in mental hospitals, that's forsure.

Lets not forget how drug companies also like to test their drugs on us, even the ones that passed the trials. Dont worry about the animals, worry about yourself.

To everyone saying that we need to test animals and do experiments on them, you're wrong. There are much more humane options available that don't even require animals. Do some research and you will see. Not to mention the fact that animals are NOT built the same way humans are so a lot of things that work on them will not work on humans and vice versa.

Also, there's a difference between a humane animal testing and a completely ridiculous and cruel one like drilling a hole into the skull of a cat or jamming plastic tubes down their throats.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Why don't they test pieces of shit like serial killers and rapists and use those results instead of hurting an innocent living thing? Those people don't deserve to live and will be dying soon anyway so at least make em useful...

You are the one who claim there are better ways, so it is your job to prove it. So if you know better than the majority of professional scientists and researchers, then go tell them. I am sure if it is just as effective scientists and researchers would gladly change how they do research. Most research concentrate on what animals have similar to humans.

This is research and the knowledge gained will help humans. Do you know why they are doing this research to call it ridiculous? Do you really think they are doing this for no reason? If they had no legitimate reason to do such research the government would have stepped in by now for "political points". Let's not forget they also would have lost their private and public funding by now if that was the case.

Well human right activists are doing the same thing as animal activists are doing, complaining about abuse...but scientists need to still do these experiments, so the next best thing is animals.

Also there is people who are accused of crimes, locked up in prison for years, and now recently because of advances in medical science were proven to be innocent. This is still going on. I imagine if scientists done experiments on a person accused of being guilty, but is later found out to be innocent would cause a uproar. People will demand why are they using humans instead of animals.

Medical science had always been doing these type of research, and this is well documented. This type of research you call ridiculous is the reason why there is better medical care today than any other point of human history. The hypocrisy of peta is that they are against this type of research, but yet they want to use the discovers made by the same research to keep themselves alive... such as Marybeth Sweetland, a vice president of peta who take insulin shots. Without insulin shots she would have been dead a long time ago, yet she is against animal research that saves her own life everyday. That is insane.
