I have a question: Is it possible to sue scammers?

there are a few car "repo" auction sites that are not what they seem to be. For a 1 time fee you get membership and "access" to all the repossessed cars, trucks, houses, etc etc they offer but when you join all they offer you is a completely different website filled with links to OTHER websites who basically offer the same deal... "For a 1 time fee you can get access to..." and so on and so on.

So if you (or me in this case) collects evidence of all the ads, emails (or the lack there of really... as I try to contact them, the emails never get through), can this possibly be allowed to sue for false advertising or for anything else?

Or is all I can do is just report to BBB and cry? lol

I wonder that too because i used to be an affiliate for
Code:
www.seizecars.com
and then found out that it was a scam..some people weren't able to even log in and some got black screens...a whole bunch of different sht!

possible to sue I recon but do not expect much

BBB - highly doubt they are listed with the BBB . So reporting them to the BBB if they did not pay membership into the BBB will get you no where .

the sad thing is... seizecars.com is the EXACT site I was wondering about, lol

Ohh yeah report them to the FTC = federal trades commision . They will be able to help you I am sure .

Then I will valwardon. Thanks for the help. :)

P.S. ... "The Dark Side rules, screw Jedis"

EDIT: and yes.... yes I was :( because I saw that some older "repo" lamborghinis were for sale in my area... shoulda known that was a scam in the first place, lol

so I joined so I could get in on the auction.... then I searched a few other areas, and got the EXACT SAME search result. I feel stupid now.

EDIT #2: hey val, I'm at the site, what do I do from here? File a complaint or contact them about suing? ...

If you don't want to unleash the FTC on them, you could always post negative blogs on scam sites, etc. or on a wordpress blog of your own. Use the name of their site in the blog title and then digg it and it will get ranked first page most times in google... then at least, you'll draw the attention of the website owner, and maybe he'll just take his page down.

Then again, the FTC may or may not do much I don't know.

Theres loads of survey sites just like that, isnt much you can do because they will never reply to their emails.

Hmm very good advice . Takes a little bit of work but it is a very good way to deal with it .

Someone looks up the name and finds that they are a scam site and stays away and keeps others from being scammed.

Maybe you should just go to Gardena and have a talk with Mr. Clay Hope or Mr. Steve Anderson. Just a thought, not trying to promote any violence or anything! :)

Let us know how everything works out.:D

Or in the alternative, you can check into their affiliate program (which is what I'm heading off to do!) I can see about five different ways of spinning this, and that's before my first coffee of the day! (I wonder how good they are about paying their affiliates??)

Just a thought! :)

Don't get mad, get even. Even better, get rich! :)

Anyone can sue anyone. Anyone can file the paperwork to do it at least, if it is deemed a valied suit it goes forward. Yes those types of lawsuits are generally good.
