Just wondering, because I wanted to use the code to alter some paypal earnings. I'm not trying to scam anyone, just playing a trick on a friend of mine.

I'm working on a ubuntu machine and tried using firefox and chrome with this javascript in the url bar:

    Code:
    javascript:document.body.contentEditable='true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0
I pressed enter and nothing happens. Its easy to do, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

That code does nothing to alter anything on the PayPal page you are trying to hax0r. You might even get in trouble for trying to post this help-me-hx-my-friend thread.

You just have to find the right javascript. Or if you are using firefox I think you can use firebug, for Google Chrome right click on a value, click inspect element and change it.

    It's a 2 second job.

This is a basic web trick that shouldn't land anyone in trouble.

Sweet, thanks. I knew about the inspect element, but I completely forgot it in this case. That should work perfectly for what I'd like to do.
