Seem to have lost all my placings which took a long time... It may be that I have taken my eye off the ball for a while and everyone else has been going mad.

Thinking of taking on someone for say £100 a month to see if it makes any difference... recommend anyone?

Your best off using a few services through the buy/sell section, you may save a lot of money compared to spending £100 per month on person. Specially if that one person harms your site by not giving what google wants in SEO terms.

There is some cracking services that you can spend $100 on and move up the ranks! quickly.

Well 100 will probably not get you a goode seo guy (why would he boher?), you risk hiring a noob that will blast your site and making rankings worse.
If you didn't get penalized, but just lost rankings, just invest in senuke and a couple of good articles. There are places where you can buy cracked versions of a lot of SEO apps for ~10$, and they do work (tried myself). Also maybe you could post in hire a freelancer to ask someone for a quick blast with senuke.
If you still want to hire someone long term, here are services i know:
    a) Secret Seo, this service claims to improve your rankings based on a monthly payment, but you DON'T GET NO REPORTS
    b) The seo guys (smth like that), can't say much about the service, but the sales page is weird for me,as they write too much about those guys that will do it for you, rather then talk about how they will achive results. As for me, I really don't care about how my SEO service guys look and which country they live in.
    c) I think there is a service by BigBuddy, called bigwhitewinner. Strangly the graphics of thats ervice look similar to Secret Seo (one of the characters looks very alike), but bigbuddy being a moderator here I doubt that he would provide a bad service

If you want smth done right, you better do it yourself =)

I would actually advise against using services. They tend to work really good for some sites, and do nothing for other.
I have a few sites that I bought exact services for, same competition, one did get a boost, other didn't.

Maybe you can find someone that gurantees a 100% money back seo improvement. IMHO thats the only way services should work

Check the BST for some reputable sellers.
Also, check for white hat service imo

    Interesting rep earnt post.

How would I know if I have been penalised?

I have used BIG BUDDY before - and loads of services. But as I said the only ones I have seen instant results from have been AMR and XRUMER.

I see that £100 a month seems not alot... hm! ok fair enough....

Yes I like the measurable improvements idea.

The trouble with hiring lots of different services is that - they are conveyor belt services that may not actually work. I have wasted money on services too you know :) They are equally hard to measure and offer no results garaunteed. I think with an individual he would rather have £100 a month for the next 24 months plus extras if he performs well than earn only £100 for doing a bad job?

I like this "white hat" concept. Do explain :)

Actually having done some BH perhaps that would be a good idea... although I am not sure what really is WH - the waters are muddy. I have never done any true Google no no ideas and never would. But then nobody really knows what is in Penguin. They might look at my Xrumer links and AMR links and discount them immediately.

Having lost all positions for what appears to be nothing more than lack of SEO activity for 5 months - it may just be lack of fresh bizness - or a complete re ordering of site based on Penguin. Saying that some of my competitors are using cloaking and still beating me.

Instant Results are not always good results, especially with xrumer and AMR.

True whitehat is linkbait - Posting good content, getting the word out, and hoping people will link to it.
Everyone has a different definition, but feel free to check the google guidelines yourself.
Oh, and it's a low slower than most BSTs, and especially AMR and Xrumer.

What they provide is a whitehat-like service. Really high quality links with natural looking anchor texts.

I don't recommend you go completely whitehat unless it's irreplaceable - like a reputed brick and mortar business.

As for your rankings going to shit - I believe it was because of Instant Results. ;)
AMR, Xrumer, Scrapebox etc. you can't use out of the box like you could earlier.

I do a "mates rates" job that starts at 3x that a month (though the first month is often loaded by a further $200+ for site content and alterations)
That's about the cheapest I've seen.
My normal rates are a whole lot higher than that for sites with international reach (think in the thousands)

Who done SEO for you in Past ? Better hire him..as Everyone will say I am Best..Even i will say I have teams and etc..But Depends what you want. As if someone say 100% you will get Rank back in specific time that is a LIE...as He not own Google. and New Update is coming next Month So Obviously you need to have a Solid SEO Link Plan to gain some success next month. 120 is fine for Long term.

I wouldn't even touch base with just under $200 a month. If you want real results, it is going to cost you. As for BigBuddy bst not working, WTF? He is classic pro, and when I tried out his services for a ultra saturated keyword I still got results. Of course not every site is the same, and even further white hat results don't show up for a long time if done correctly. I can't vouch for every site or service out there but you might want to stop wasting money on seo and turn over to true traffic driving techniques. If you own a mns there are bsts to drive traffic for you. If you own a product then Adwords is your best bet.
