    Hi

I am getting a tattoo in a couple days.

I want to put the symbol for "CLARITY" on my arm.

But i'm nor sure which symbol is correct.

    Is this symbol correct?

I would prefer if it only had one character, like this page here

But I don't want to make a classic TATTOO MISTAKE and get some characters that don't make sense.

So which character (or characters) best means "clarity"

I'm hoping we have some native speakers here.

    Thanks so muchhhhhhhh!!!! ;)

This should be the answer bro.

i know, but if you look at that page, some have 2 characters, and some have one.

sometimes, chinese characters standing alone, don't make much sense.

so i'm trying to get some verification before i choose one (or the two).

    translate.google.com gives that as clarity

be really careful with foriegn language tatoos when i was in the navy years ago one of our guys pissed of a tattoo guy ... instead of WAR the guy did kanji for HOMOSEXUAL caused alot of drama...

find a older person you trust who knows the language you want have him draw it large enough to see easily and then have like 3-4 other people verify it

Don't tell him how to live his life. @OP- It's okay to be gay! In fact I have a buddy that is a homosexual, and he lives a happy life.

the two characters that OP posted mean "clear" when used together. You'd use it in a situation where you're saying something like "I'm not too clear on..." (I don't really understand) or "I clearly told him". It's one type of "clear" but probably not the "clear" you're looking for.

and getting chinese tattoos is really lame.

also, some of the single characters in that picture op posted dont necessarily have the meaning given. If you insist on getting a chinese tattoo, you should get a four-character cheng yu (saying)

    I read chinese.

None of the characters mean "clarity" just by itself. and the initial 2 words you have chosen just means "clear"... as in "are you clear?" If i see someone with that tattoo I'd point at him and laugh. so don't do it!

A dude gets out of the water at the nudist beach. On his penis, tattooed was Wendy, after his girlfriend's name. He notices another guy who had a big WENDY tattooed on his penis and because he finds that interesting he goes to say hi

    - Hi there, I see you also have Wendy tattooed on your penis. Is your girlfriend's name Wendy as well?

    - What? Oh no - said the other guy laughing - the water is kinda cold today. Mine says "Welcome! Enjoy this Night, it's Distractions and tomorrow morning's Yogurt"

if you wanna choose the exact chinese character, you'd better make clear what you want to show in english. Explain the word 'clarity' with exact description.
    clarity translated to 清楚,清澈,清晰

Hi, I am a native Chinese from Nanjing(a city not away from shanghai), sometimes it is hard to find a exact translation between chinese and english, but as you want to express the meaning of "clarity", and you prefer one Chinese character, right? I thing "明" , is ok!
In chinese culture, people do prefer to express in a implicit way, that means do not express straightforwardly. "明晰" as sb has mentioned before may better to express "clarity", but not that follow Chinese culture! It is my opinion. Hope it is useful!:)
