I don't really understand what you mean by having it look like Craigslist. Also, I think Blue Host is an okay company.

it won't be easy you'll need server side scripting like (asp/php) plus a datebase maybe mysql and we don't now how good your skills are? if you think you cant then ts better to find a trustworthy freelancer and keep working with them, it can cost you a couple of hundred dollars i assume.

I found a good craigslist clone script at script copy but they charge over $500 where i have found others not as good looking scripts for $11.

Is the $500 price a rippoff?

There's a script by XZero, "Community Classifieds", and it's about $80:

    Code:
    http://xzeroscripts.com/products/xzero_classifieds/
I installed that for a client and it looks like a decent solution. Be aware that it uses a table-based design (a big mistake, IMO), so you'll have to have that changed to CSS, which can be a real PITA.

Nowadays there are many ways to create similar websites even much better looking than Craigslist. Personally, I believe that craigslist doesn't look good and its design hasn't been updated for ages, but there are some scripts like open classifieds which you could use to create a better looking one.

I also prefer having an open source script when building my website just in case I needed to do any changes

I know that this post is old, but i felt like sharing that

They are pretty good, but they have a pretty strict anti porn, anti scam policy.
Scam sites and porn sites struggle on them, so if you're thinking of scamming people with a fake Craigslist site, be warned.

Godaddy (who in other resects, like speed, ease of use and security are - and let's be honest here F&CKING CRAP, with every button you press just leading to another page of them trying to sell you stuff, with the actual item you pressed the button to get to buried in yet another torrent of self advertising) well, they have the advantage of being far slacker on this.

Shit. Yes - but far more easy going. However, given that as soon as a site on shared hosting gets two simultaneous visitors the server gives up, probably not worth bothering with anyway.

I use them to start sites, then when they get to 100 visitors a day I have to move them because their servers are complete crap and can't handle even that tiny load.
There are other hosts. Often adult hosting is pretty good for all sorts of sites.
